Bill Maher never shied away from telling his party bad news.
Maher specializes in telling the left truths it doesn’t want to hear.
And Bill Maher blindsided Democrats by slamming this panic button.
As American Media Watchdog reports:
The Democrat Party’s ideological civil war intensified when authors Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson published a book entitled “Abundance” which made the argument that a Democrat Party comeback rests on embracing a lighter regulatory touch to achieve greater societal progress.
The problem with the argument is it would require Democrats to disown large portions of Big Labor’s agenda and the Green New Deal, rendering it a non-starter.
Maher brought Klein and Thompson on his show and told them the failure of big government in states like California has forced residents to flee to other states.
Democrats will pay the piper for this population migration in the 2030s as the American Redistricting Project shows Texas and Florida gaining four Electoral College votes apiece while Idaho, Arizona, and Utah each gain one.
By comparison, California loses three seats, New York loses two, and Rhode Island, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin each lose one.
Under this map, Donald Trump would have carried the 2024 election with 322 instead of 312 Electoral College votes.
The Republican Party’s growing structural advantage in the Electoral College led Maher to declare “game over” for the Democrat Party.
“I mean, this looks like game over. And the reason why people are voting with their feet is a lot of what your book is about: taxes and regulation,” Maher declared.
Maher added that he’s been warning Democrats for years that Big Government collapses under its own weight as he couldn’t even get solar panels installed on his house in a timely fashion in the supposedly pro-environmental state of California.
“I’ve certainly been screaming about it forever. I did three years with a sign here that said, ‘How long is it gonna take me to get my solar hooked up? Three years. Talking about it on television in this state, you couldn’t do it!” Maher exclaimed.
Maher said Democrats are helpless to act.
“It’s not that hard for Democrats to understand this, but they don’t. They seem to be incapable of doing anything about it,” Maher added.
But that’s because Democrats are run by a coalition of interest groups.
Big Labor – which funds the Democrat Party – supports the Green New Deal and its accompanying regulatory regime because union bosses think they can push all the workers in the green energy economy under their thumb which will provide a reservoir of new forced union dues to funnel into the campaign accounts of Democrats.
