California Governor Gavin Newsom wants to run for President in 2028.
But Newsom may want to consider other plans.
And one Democrat wrecked Gavin Newsom by airing this dirty laundry.
As Swamp digest reports:
Gavin Newsom is a savvy politician and he’s reading the tea leaves about which path Democrats need to take to succeed.
And presumably, in an effort to boost his presidential prospects, he’s trying to moderate his image to appear more reasonable than other Democrats.
But the problem is Newsom has an extremely long history of holding radically left-wing positions on social issues along with his economic mismanagement of his state.
People who have been paying attention know Newsom is not a moderate despite the efforts to recreate his image.
And Stephen A. Smith of ESPN, of all people, told the public the truth about Newsom and why he’s not cut out to lead the country.
According to Breitbart: “Newsom is widely believed to be angling for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028. Still, Smith thinks that Newsom’s chances are slim, considering that he is governor of a state with some of the worst problems with homelessness, the cost of living, and crime, Mediaite reported.”
“There is no doubt, respectfully, Mr. Governor of California, that your record won’t hold the muster. That’s why you got a podcast. We keep inviting you on this show — still waiting, still waiting. Because here’s the reality, sir. With the homelessness, with the crime, with the cost of living in California, I can’t imagine Gavin Newsom winning a presidential election with what is going on in the state of California. Period,” Smith stated.
Smith clearly doesn’t hold Newsom’s tenure as governor of California in high regard, but Breitbart goes on to report that Smith’s comments could have other implications.
“Of course, some feel that Smith himself is testing the waters for his own run for president, and his comments could be construed as a swipe at a rival,” Breitbart reported.
As bad as Smith thinks Newsom’s chances would be, it’s likely Smith’s chances are even worse considering his only qualification is being a sports talk show host.
Smith has always been a bit of a renegade politically and has certainly never been one to tame his tongue whether it’s on politics, sports, or just about anything else.
However, it’s still interesting that someone on a liberal network like ESPN would express such strong negative feelings about Gavin Newsom.
