Democrats find themselves in another political mess.
Liberals learned there is no easy way out.
And a Democrat went on Fox News and what they revealed will change everything.
Democrats seized on the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion reversing Roe v. Wade to claim the momentum was on their side heading into the midterm election.
But this was a lie.
And former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard explained the deception in an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel TV show.
Overturning Roe v. Wade would not ban abortion nationwide.
The Supreme Court justices reversing Roe would only kick the abortion issue to all 50 states and allow federalism to prevail.
Gabbard told Hannity that the left was afraid of putting the issue of abortion up for a vote because liberals know they will lose.
“I think when you look at the different efforts to assault our freedom and democracy, it continuously points to the fact that they’re afraid of the people,” Gabbard began. “They’re afraid of us, they are afraid of this question being put to the people through their state legislatures for the people’s voices to be heard.”
Gabbard likened the left’s freakout over the end of Supreme Court-mandated abortion on demand in all 50 states to their quest to censor all speech on the internet.
The former congresswoman stated that the common thread between the two crusades on the left was that liberals do not trust Americans to make their own decisions.
And there is good reason for liberals to suspect that they will lose a vote on abortion.
A new Rasmussen poll found a plurality of Americans supporting the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Breitbart reports:
Overall, a plurality, 48 percent, said they would approve of overturning Roe, and of those, 32 percent “strongly” approve. In contrast, 45 percent disapprove, and of those, 35 percent do so “strongly.”
Predictably, opinions are divided along party lines, as 64 percent of Democrats oppose overturning Roe, compared to 66 percent of Republicans who approve. Independents remain more divided, as 48 percent support overturning Roe and 44 percent disapprove.
Fox News polling showed majority support for banning abortion after six and 15 weeks.
Gabbard also warned that the leaker had mayhem in mind when they fed the draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“This person is a thief who stole this information, released it with a very specific intent to try to when incite protesters and intimidate and pressure our Supreme Court justices to make a political decision rather than a decision that is based on the Constitution,” Gabbard concluded.
