Joe Biden has tried to deny any knowledge of his son’s business deals.
But the evidence suggests a different picture.
A newly discovered letter revealed just how close Joe Biden is to Hunter’s scandals.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked on Tuesday whether President Biden still maintains he never discussed overseas business deals with his son Hunter.
“The president has said that he never spoke with his son about his overseas business dealings. Is that still the case?” Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked Psaki at her daily press briefing.
“Yes,” Psaki replied, reaffirming Biden’s 2019 claim that he’d “never spoken” with his son about “his overseas business dealings.”
Yet an email obtained by Fox News Digital revealed that Biden wrote a college recommendation letter for the son of a Chinese executive who did business with Hunter Biden’s investment firm Rosemont Seneca.
In an email sent to Hunter Biden and his business associate Devon Archer on Jan. 3, 2017 the Chinese investment CEO Jonathan Li, who was involved in a joint venture with Rosemont Seneca, wrote to ask for help for his son who was applying to American colleges.
“Gentlemen[sic], please find the attached resume of my son, Chris Li. He is applying the following colleges for this year,” Li writes, listing Brown University, Cornell University, and New York University.
Li goes on to attach an “updated version” of his son’s “CV” in a subsequent email.
On Feb. 18, 2017, Eric Schwerin, who served as president of Rosemont Seneca, replied to Li.
“Jonathan, Hunter asked me to send you a copy of the recommendation letter that he asked his father to write on behalf of Christopher for Brown University,” Schwerin wrote.
“The original is being FedExed to Dr. Paxson directly at Brown,” Schwerin wrote. “It should be there by Tuesday at the latest (given Monday is a holiday here in the U.S.). Let us know if you have any questions. Best, Eric.”
Dr. Christina Paxson is the president of Brown University.
Li replied: “Hi Eric, Just see the email. It is just great! Thank you very much!
“And Hunter, thank you very much too,” Li continued. “All the best to you all.”
Joe Biden has not only faced allegations that he appeared to be aware of his son’s business deals but also that he profited from them.
An authenticated text message revealed that Hunter complained in 2019 that he had to give “half his salary” to his father.
Peter Schweizer, the author of “Red-Handed,” told The Daily Wire the implications are potentially criminal.
“Hunter Biden was getting money from these overseas deals. He was paying some of his father’s monthly bills, but he was also paying for things like renovations on his father’s home in Delaware, et cetera. That’s patently illegal in the United States.
“Politicians can’t be subsidized by family members. And the fact that the money came from overseas of course means that, uh, that has further implications,” he added.
