The Republican establishment never liked Donald Trump.
GOP elites always looked for the first opportunity to get rid of Trump and his conservative supporters.
And one RINO traitor got exposed for committing this terrible crime against Donald Trump.
RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell hates Trump.
And McConnell saw the 2022 midterms as his chance to diminish Trump’s influence and steer the GOP towards an establishment moderate like Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin or Nikki Haley in the 2024 presidential election.
McConnell’s plan involved sabotaging all the Senate candidates Trump endorsed and then after Trump’s candidates lost, claim Donald Trump is toxic.
McConnell executed the first part of this plan by trashing the “quality” of the Senate nominee Trump endorsed and predicting that Democrats would maintain control of the U.S. Senate.
“I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different — they’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome,” McConnell predicted.
By feeding the fake news media narrative that Trump’s Senate nominees were fringe extremists McConnell hoped to scare off donors and swing voters.
National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott fired back at McConnell in a Washington Examiner op-ed.
Scott – who is himself an anti-gun RINO that supported red flag confiscation laws and raising the age to 21 to purchase a rifle – noted that McConnell oversaw Republicans losing the Senate in 2020 and 2021 and now looked to be blowing yet another election.
In the op-ed Scott blasted McConnell and his lieutenants as ‘traitors to conservatives’ by planting quotes in the press trash-talking GOP Senate nominees.
“Unfortunately, many of the very people responsible for losing the Senate last cycle are now trying to stop us from winning the majority this time by trash-talking our Republican candidates. It’s an amazing act of cowardice, and ultimately, it’s treasonous to the conservative cause. Giving anonymous quotes to help the Washington Post or the New York Times write stories trashing Republicans is the same as working with the Democratic National Committee,” Scott stated.
Scott explained that when McConnell complained about “bad candidates” McConnell was really attacking GOP voters because they were the ones who picked the candidates.
“Ultimately, though, when you complain and lament that we have ‘bad candidates,’ what you are really saying is that you have contempt for the voters who chose them. Now we are at the heart of the matter. Much of Washington’s chattering class disrespects and secretly (or not so secretly) loathes Republican voters,” Scott added.
Scott noted that establishment RINOs like McConnell hate conservatives more than they do Democrats.
Mitch McConnell sees it as his number one goal being to defeat conservatives.
McConnell has no problem serving in a Senate run by the Democrats because McConnell is more comfortable supporting Chuck Schumer’s agenda than the conservative agenda that Donald Trump’s Senate nominees would push.
And Mitch McConnell is purposefully trying to lose the 2022 midterm election because it would create the opening for McConnell to try and seize back control of the GOP.
