One top Republican personally knows the deadly lengths the radical left is willing to go to.
He’s demanding that Maxine Waters be held accountable.
A wounded Republican exposed the terrible danger Maxine Waters put him in.
In 2017, a Sen. Bernie Sanders supporter opened fire on a group of Republicans practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game.
The terrorist shot at multiple Republican members of Congress but Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise’s wounds were critical and the swift actions of a former battlefield medic, Rep. Brad Wenstrup, are probably all that kept Scalise from dying on the field that day.
Scalise blasted Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters for using the same kind of “dangerous rhetoric” that got him shot.
“Let’s be clear: Maxine Waters knew her rhetoric would incite violence in Minneapolis—but she doesn’t care, she just requests police escorts for herself,” Scalise tweeted Monday.
“I was shot because of this kind of dangerous rhetoric,” Scalise continued, referencing the 2017 shooting, “Where is the outrage from Dems & the media? They need to condemn this.”
Waters appeared to encourage inciting violence in response to the result of the Derek Chauvin trial if the Democrats didn’t get what they want.
“Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said on Saturday night that if Derek Chauvin is not found guilty of murder for the death of George Floyd that activists must ‘get more confrontational’ on ‘the street’ because the activists need to ‘make sure that they know we mean business,’” reported The Daily Wire.
“We’re looking for a guilty verdict. We’re looking for a guilty verdict. And we’re looking to see if all of this [inaudible] that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd,” Waters said. “If nothing does not happen, then we know, that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice, but I am very hopefully and I hope that we’re going to get a verdict that will say guilty, guilty, guilty. And if we don’t, we cannot go away.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced that he will try to censure Democrat Waters.
“This weekend in Minnesota, Maxine Waters broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence. Increased unrest has already led to violence against law enforcement and her comments intentionally poured fuel on the fire,” McCarthy said in a statement. “We’ve heard this type of violent rhetoric from Waters before, and the United States Congress must clearly and without reservation reprimand this behavior before more people get hurt. But Speaker Pelosi is ignoring Waters’ behavior. That’s why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments, and I hope that all my colleagues – both Republican and Democrat – will stand up for peace on America’s streets.”
