The left despises Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
He supports the Constitution as it is written, making him a constant thorn in the side of the left.
And Obama couldn’t believe his ears when Clarence Thomas said the one thing he fears.
Clarence Thomas has a remarkable life story.
Despite being the descendant of slaves, and growing up in dirt poor conditions, he was able to push forward, eventually serving on the U.S. Supreme Court.
From his position on the highest U.S. Court, he has long been the most conservative member of the court.
He respects the Constitution and fights every day to protect it.
And consistently he finds himself as the left’s biggest enemy.
The latest issue he is causing fury over is on abortion.
Thomas has a long record of pro-life rulings, much to the ire of the Democrat Party.
And in a recent court opinion, he spoke out against dismemberment abortions.
Speaking on an Alabama law outlawing dismembering abortions, he begins by going in depth on the procedure itself.
Thomas described the dismemberment abortion process; saying that the more developed a child is, “the more likely an abortion will involve dismembering it.”
And after making this point clear, he points out that it is “implausible” that laws against dismemberment abortions are unconstitutional.
“The notion that anything in the Constitution prevents States from passing laws prohibiting the dismembering of a living child is implausible,” the Supreme Court Justice said.
This one opinion is infuriating to the entire Democrat Party, which continues to shift radically to the left on countless issues, including abortion.
On the issue of abortion, they are even going so far as to support outright infanticide in the case of children being birthed from botched abortions.
Most of America understands that is a despicable position to hold, but the Democrat Party has gotten so radical that they don’t care.
So their increasingly radical positions may end up blowing up in their faces.
President Trump continues to confirm pro-life judges to federal courts, including two new Supreme Court Justices since taking office.
It is beginning to become possible that the Roe v. Wade decision making abortion a right could be on the chopping block.
In fact, many believe Justice Thomas recently hinted at that fact in a court opinion.
He was talking about long-held court precedent that is “erroneous,” and how the court shouldn’t be following those cases simply for being long-held.
“When faced with a demonstrably erroneous precedent, my rule is simple: We should not follow it,” Thomas wrote.
Thomas also went on to encourage state courts to follow his opinion, but made sure to add that long-held precedent “may remain relevant when it is not demonstrably erroneous.”
The way that courts have been able to continue to keep abortion completely legal is simply through using Roe v. Wade, which is a decades-old decision.
Nobody currently on the court had any involvement in the decision.
Yet, simply due to its age, there have been no major challenges to the decision in recent history.
Justice Thomas is clearly making that case that it may be time to revisit the case.
