Sen. Bernie Sanders will almost certainly challenge Trump in 2020.
And many believe he is one of Trump’s biggest challengers.
But he just did one thing exposing himself as a hypocrite.
Bernie Sanders’ campaign in 2016 had one simple theme.
It is that he will be a president “for the people.”
To do that he makes wild promises of free stuff.
And he claims that he isn’t bought out by special interests, making him “one of us.”
But time and time again his actions don’t match up with his rhetoric.
For one, the professional politician owns three homes, including a $600,000 vacation home.
That was something that exposed him to many people as a fraud.
But the latest news coming out makes that even clearer.
FEC reports from October show that Sanders spent nearly $300,000 on private jet use.
His campaign, which is largely funded by small donors, spent $297,685.50 to Apollo jets on October 10th.
This massive amount of money shows just how out of touch Sanders is.
Sanders’ primary career is being a politician.
And in doing so he makes a lot of money.
His 2017 salary is over $1 million.
Much of that comes from books released in recent years.
And it puts him healthily in the 1 percent that he often rails against.
This major boost in wealth may bring negative attention to him going into 2020.
He is currently one of the favored top candidates, polling only a few points behind Joe Biden, who is the top polling contender.
But Sanders’ supporters are largely socialist-leaning Democrats and Independents.
They are people who truly despise those who are successful.
They often trash President Trump for his immense wealth, claiming it makes it impossible for him to represent them.
But now Sanders is in the same boat.
Although he is nowhere near as wealthy as President Trump, he is in the top one percent of earners in the United States.
And the money he has comes because of his political career.
Donald Trump only got into politics after being successful.
He is the most well-known real estate developer of all time.
In virtually all of the biggest cities, there are massive towers with his name on them.
The only thing outside of politics Sanders has to show for himself is a few books.
This is more reason for him to run for President in 2020.
Sanders’ 2016 presidential run is how most people know him.
It gave him a massive boost in name recognition he then used to enrich himself.
He was seen as the underdog running against the Democrat establishment.
But the Democrat establishment thoroughly rejected him.
Emails leaked by WikiLeaks show that the DNC rigged the primary against him, and in favor of Hillary Clinton.
If it weren’t for that, Bernie would have likely been the Democrat nominee and perhaps President right now.
Many believe that Sanders can beat Donald Trump due to him also being seen as an outsider.
Do you think Bernie Sanders can beat President Trump?
