The recent Inspector General report into the FBI’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email server uncovered a lot of information.
But there was one tiny detail that nobody is talking about.
And that one tiny detail will put Hillary and Bill Clinton in a world of trouble.
Hillary Clinton using a private email server to send and receive classified information is a well-known fact. And that fact is very hurtful for Clinton, the fact that only a handful of her most devout fans are willing to defend her for it proves that. Many believe it is the reason she lost the 2016 election.
But one question that hasn’t been asked as often as it should is where her email server came from.
Thankfully, the recently released Inspector General report goes into that question, but for some reason almost nobody is talking about what was found. As it turns out, the server didn’t come out of nowhere, and the Secret Service was well aware of that.
Hillary Clinton’s husband and former President Bill Clinton stated that the server used by Hillary was his server. “It was after all my server and the FBI knew it was there and the Secret Service approved it coming in and she just used what was mine,” Bill Clinton stated.
While the former President felt that this information was helpful for Hillary, as the server was at one time approved by the Secret Service, an unnamed prosecutor didn’t feel it helped her case at all. Bill Clinton made this claim to allude towards the fact that the server was simply used for convenience.
The unnamed prosecutor believes that claim is questionable, stating that “[m]y view was and still remains that the private email server was set up to avoid FOIA…. [I]f you look at Colin Powell’s email, he pretty much was trying to avoid FOIA too.”
The IG report digs deeper into this claim. For reference, Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State from January 1, 2009 until February 1, 2013. During that entire period she used her private email server hosting the @clintonemail.com domain.
According to the report, the email server was initially set up by Bill Clinton’s staff in the Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, NY in 2008 (before Hillary was Secretary of State). In or around January 2009, Hillary directed her aides to create her clintonemail.com account, and that it was done as a “matter of convenience.”
But even if it was in fact done for convenience, it was still dangerous, as she was intending to send and receive classified emails. It would have been fine if Hillary was using the email server for a private matter, much like Bill Clinton appeared to have it set up for.
But instead, she was working as a high-level government official, using the email to send and receive the sort of classified emails reserved for someone in her capacity. Even former FBI Director James Comey realized how negligent that was when he scolded her in front of the entire nation.
If the information found in the Inspector General report was around in 2016, Hillary Clinton likely would have been prosecuted for her negligence.
Do you think Hillary Clinton should be criminally prosecuted for putting national security at risk?
