Candace Owens is ready to take on her biggest opponent yet.
She’s challenging one of the most powerful institutions in America.
Candace Owens launched a giant lawsuit that made the radical left go insane.
The fact-checkers that internet giants are using are far from unbiased.
Facebook claims to be fair in its censorship yet during the election the company routinely used its power in a way that targeted conservatives.
They actively tried to stop the reach of the New York Post story on Hunter Biden’s email on their platform.
Facebook is trying to silence voices that disagree with them.
Candace Owens, a conservative author and commentator, has decided to take the fight to them and is looking to sue the Facebook fact-checkers.
“It is time to fact-check the fact-checkers,” Owens said in a video posted to Twitter. “I’m going to put these suckers through discovery and figure out what the relationship is that they have with Facebook.”
Owens mentioned how her thoughts on the coronavirus, that originally came from a doctor, were “fact-checked.”
“Quite literally a doctor gave his opinion about COVID-19, which I shared, and Facebook issued a strike on my account because they said only information that they agree with about COVID-19 … was acceptable,” she said.
Controversial subjects like the coronavirus need to be discussed.
Different doctors have different theories and there deserves to be public debate on the subject. However, posting on the coronavirus led to her Facebook page being demonetized.
“I decided I was not going to give up and sit down,” she told her supporters, vowing to always use her platform to fight. “The fact-checkers … they are activists for the Left that shut down your speech if they don’t like it.”
Owens started a website to raise money for the legal fight, which will likely be an extended battle in the court system.
“Our freedoms are being stripped away,” the site reads. “The overlords of Big Tech are determining what Americans can and cannot say, share, like, and post. Support our legal efforts today as we fight back against Facebook’s fact-checkers, confronting those who are suppressing free speech, thought, and expression across our great country.”
Owens has retained Todd McMurtry, an attorney who was part of the legal team for the Covington (Ky.) Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann.
The lawsuit will go after the third-party fact-checker that Facebook uses.
The fact-checkers haven’t stopped false information from spreading across the internet, instead, they are being used to silence conservatives.
Facebook, Twitter, and Google are trying to keep their users from seeing information they don’t approve of.
If they want to operate in that way, they shouldn’t have the protection of being a platform and should be regulated as publishers.
