The Chinese knew that they couldn’t keep the deadly new virus a secret forever.
But by lying to the world, they gained time to pull off one big scheme.
Why did China cover up the coronavirus epidemic? Trump exposed the shocking reason.
The American government is currently investigating the origins of the coronavirus that emerged in Wuhan, China in November of 2019.
The DNA of the virus shows that it came from horseshoe bats. Just a few miles from the wet market where the Chinese government claims the virus emerged is the Wuhan Institute of Virology where scientists were studying the coronavirus of horseshoe bats.
American officials sent word after a tour of the laboratory in 2018 that the precautions being taken at Wuhan Institute were insufficient for the deadly viruses being studied.
“These are not the first times that we’ve had a world exposed to viruses as a result of failures in a Chinese lab,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said. “And so, while the intelligence community continues to do its work, they should continue to do that, and verify so that we are certain, I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan.”
However, this isn’t the only possible crime committed by the Chinese government that needed to be investigated.
A new report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suggests that China didn’t reveal the scope of the viral outbreak in order to hoard vital supplies for their own country.
“We assess the Chinese Government intentionally concealed the severity of COVID-19 from the International community in early January while it stockpiled medical supplies by both increasing imports and decreasing exports,” the DHS report from May 1st says.
“We further assess the Chinese government attempted to hide its actions by denying there were export restrictions and obfuscating and delaying provision of its trade data,” the report continued.
It was clear before that China was trying to downplay the virus when they were telling the world in mid-January that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission.
Now we know the reason why.
The WHO, instead of helping global health, promoted what the Chinese government was saying without confirming the data themselves.
The Chinese silenced doctors who tried to tell the world what was going on, some of whom have disappeared.
Yet the mainstream news in America still cling to the notion that it’s a very bad thing for President Trump to be hard on the Chinese government.
Nothing could be further from the truth; the fact that Trump is willing to call the Chinese out on their awful behavior is one of the best things he’s done as President.
Trump has consistently said during his presidency that America needs to fight back against Chinese underhanded trade deals that consistently steal Americans’ intellectual property.
He isn’t about to let the Chinese get off the hook now.
Donald Trump will make sure America knows the truth about any crimes the Chinese government committed at the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
