Democrats are getting desperate.
As the bad news sinks in that Democrats cannot stop Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation, liberal senators are trying to send landmines to blow up her nomination.
Now Chuck Schumer hit Amy Coney Barrett with this ultimatum that changes the election.
On the second day of Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing, Democrats took aim at Barrett falsely claiming she was a tool for Donald Trump that would hand him the Presidency on a legal technicality.
Chuck Schumer issued an ultimatum on social media that as a Supreme Court Justice, Amy Coney Barrett must recuse herself from any election-related case involving Donald Trump.
“Judge Barrett must immediately pledge to recuse herself from any cases involving the 2020 election. She is refusing to stand up to President Trump,” Schumer wrote on Twitter.
The top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, Dianne Feinstein, also pressed Barrett on hypothetical cases involving Donald Trump trying to delay the election or contesting the results based on accusations of voter fraud.
But Barrett did not take the bait.
“If that question ever came before me, I would need to hear arguments from the litigants and read briefs and consult with my law clerks and talk to my colleagues and go through the opinion-writing process,” Barrett stated, adding that judges should “thoughtfully and with an open mind” consider cases.
Barrett defended her answers by correctly pointing out that she was not auditioning for the job of legal pundit on cable news.
“If I gave off-the-cuff answers then I would be basically a legal pundit, and I don’t think we want judges to be legal pundits,” Barrett added.
Barrett also pushed back declaring that she was not a pawn for any politician and that senators should have more respect for her ability to independently rule on cases.
Democrats are very worried about the election.
In recent weeks they have lost multiple court cases centered on Democrats’ schemes to throw the election into chaos with no limits on counting mail-in ballots.
Federal judges upheld South Carolina’s rule requiring a witness for absentee ballots and Texas Governor Greg Abbott limiting each county to one dropbox.
The Supreme Court will also likely hear upcoming challenges to Democrat schemes in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to allow ballots to come in after Election Day to count.
This will throw the election into chaos as Democrat governors in swing states extend the vote-counting period for weeks on end to allow the left to find enough late-arriving mail-in ballots to hand the election and the Presidency to Joe Biden.
And Democrats are worried that Amy Coney Barrett will short circuit this blatantly unconstitutional scheme so they are smearing her as a partisan hack.
