Even Democrats are having trouble supporting Chuck Schumer at this point.
He’s making a complete fool of himself.
Chuck Schumer groaned with pain when he saw this viral video of himself.
Democrats want to ram through massive partisan spending that America can’t afford.
Democrats, in control of all three branches of government, are trying to extend the country’s borrowing limit on their own yet they’re trying to blame Republicans for the problem.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell helped Democrats out by making a bipartisan deal that would raise the debt ceiling through Dec. 3.
But despite being given extra time to negotiate with his own party Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer went straight after attacking Republicans provoking a huge reaction from Democrat Senator Joe Manchin (WV).
“Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans insisted they wanted a solution to the debt ceiling, but said Democrats must raise it alone by going through a drawn out convoluted and risky reconciliation process,” Schumer said as Manchin looked on from behind shaking his head and putting his hands on his face in an apparent display of frustration. “That was simply unacceptable to my caucus.”
Schumer claimed that this would have been the “first ever Republican manufactured default on the national debt.”
While blaming Republicans, Schumer said that Republicans need to “stay out of the way and let Democrats address that debt limit ourselves.”
Democrats want to be able to spend in a partisan manner and blame Republicans for helping them add to America’s debt.
Manchin buried his head in his hands while Schumer delivered the attack and later walked off the floor during the speech.
Manchin told reporters as he left the Capitol, “Civility is gone.”
Lack of civility is a personal problem for Manchin as Democrats aren’t willing to discourage harassment against him if he doesn’t vote in line with what they want.
President Joe Biden downplayed left-wing activists harassing Manchin as well as Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) as just “part of the process.”
Biden was directly asked about it on Monday by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
“Mr. President, you’re talking about how you have 48 Democratic votes right now,” Doocy began. “The other two have been pressured over the weekend by activists. Joe Manchin had people on kayaks show up to his boat. Senator Sinema last night was chased into a restroom.
“Do you think that those tactics are crossing a line?” Doocy asked.
“I don’t think they’re appropriate tactics, but it happens to everybody,” Biden responded. “The only people it doesn’t happen to are people who have Secret Service standing around them. So it’s part of the process.”
The Democrats aren’t willing to be civil, even towards moderates in their own party.
