CNN is extremely unfair to the president.
They refuse to say anything good that he does.
And now they are suing Trump for an insane reason.
Fake News CNN
CNN could change their name to the “Clinton News Network” and few would notice.
During the 2016 election, they did everything possible to slander Trump while excusing wrongdoings of Hillary Clinton.
And since the election of Trump, they have been ramping up their anti-Trump rhetoric to extremes.
Their White House Correspondent Jim Acosta constantly attacks Trump.
While much of the media is unfair to him at Press Briefings, Acosta brings it to a new level.
He screams questions at Trump and his Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
But the questions are virtually always loaded.
Instead of acting like a reporter and asking unbiased questions, he adds his own commentary.
Oftentimes he tells the president he is wrong on policies he pursues.
That leads towards tense exchanges between the two.
Trump isn’t afraid to take Acosta on, and he regularly does.
And their latest exchange was their most extreme one yet.
CNN’s Acosta Loses His Press Credentials
The first press conference after the midterm elections turned into a showdown between Acosta and Trump.
It is a showdown that might be the last between the two.
Asking about the caravan coming to the border, Acosta attacked Trump for calling it an invasion.
Acosta says it isn’t an invasion and asked the president why he would call it such.
Trump responded, telling him that he believes it is.
And then Trump began firing back, letting his feelings for Acosta be well known, saying:
“You should let me run the country. You run CNN.”
At this point, a White House intern went to take the mic from Acosta.
But instead, Acosta put his hands on her and refused to give up the microphone.
That set Trump off into an angry but justified tirade.
“I tell you what: CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you working for them,” Trump said. “You are a rude terrible person.”
Eventually, Acosta gave up the microphone, but still was yelling questions out of turn.
After this display, the White House revoked the press credentials for Acosta.
He broke policy and put his hands on a White House intern.
CNN should be infuriated by his behavior.
But instead, they are standing beside him, justifying the behavior.
CNN Sues President Trump
In response, CNN and Acosta are filing a lawsuit against a number of officials.
Among them are the president, Press Secretary Sanders, and the secret service agent tasked with removing his press pass.
In a statement, CNN claims that the revocation of his press pass violates the First Amendment:
“The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta’s First Amendment rights of freedom of the press, and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process.”
It is unlikely their lawsuit will go far.
While there is freedom of the press, the Constitution doesn’t declare that Jim Acosta has a constitutional right to White House press credentials.
Do you think Trump did the right thing in revoking Acosta’s credentials?
