No reporter has gotten into it with President Trump more than Jim Acosta of CNN.
He has made a name for himself for his unhinged attacks on the president during press briefings.
And now he’s furious after getting the worst news of his career.
Like any good grifter, Jim Acosta is looking to cash in on his fame coming from his attacks on President Trump.
He is doing that with his new book, “Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America.”
In the book he whines about how President Trump is mean to him, and reveals that he is the one who eggs him on every single time.
The book, which has more negative than positive reviews on Amazon, is not getting the reception he had hoped.
In fact, a review from NPR shows just how bad the book is.
Annalisa Quinn’s scathing review outlines how the book shows Acosta not as a reporter, but as a partisan pundit who sees himself as some sort of hero for attacking the President.
The review reads:
“In “The Enemy of the People,” Acosta sounds less like a reporter than a rival athlete: “We beat Trump!” Acosta remembers shouting after the lawsuit. Later, he writes, the “Trump people … had clearly gotten spanked.” The tone throughout is jocular and self-congratulatory. Describing a Trump confrontation, he writes that another reporter was “the real hero” of the news conference for defending Acosta, something you only say if you believe you are, in fact, the apparent and obvious hero.”
This review isn’t surprising.
Even many who dislike Trump see his book as proof that he isn’t a reporter.
In the book he openly admits to “grandstanding” and “showboating.”
He additionally states that “Neutrality for the sake of neutrality doesn’t really serve us in the age of Trump.”
So he’s openly admitting that he is unfair to the President.
Anybody with a brain already knows that is true.
In his most infamous moment, Acosta even put his hands on a White House intern trying to take the microphone away from him following orders from President Trump.
Prior to being ordered to take the microphone, Acosta got into a heated exchange with President Trump by telling him that the caravans heading to the U.S.’s are “not an invasion” just after Trump said otherwise.
Trump went after Acosta following the exchange, calling him a “rude, terrible person,” and blasting his harassment of Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Following the incident, Acosta had his press credentials temporarily pulled.
That is the incident that truly brought him into the national spotlight.
So he is far from a reporter.
The job of a reporter in the White House is to report what is coming from the President, not to get into heated exchanges with him.
Many reporters ask tough questions, but he is crossing a line by directly attacking the President.
