For two and a half years, Democrats counted on Obama judges to block Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” immigration agenda.
But now the tables have turned.
And one court just handed Donald Trump this victory that no one saw coming.
A centerpiece of Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration is punishing rogue sanctuary cities that flout federal immigration law.
Sanctuary cities refuse to allow law enforcement to cooperate with ICE agents in deporting illegal aliens.
To end the anti-American insurgency taking place in liberal cities, the Justice Department under then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced it would withhold certain federal grants for law enforcement to sanctuary cities.
The sanctuary city of Los Angeles sued and a California District Court granted an injunction blocking the policy.
Department of Justice lawyers filed an appeal, but since the far-left Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was hearing the case there was little hope for victory.
But in a stunning two to one decision the Ninth Circuit overruled the lower court and handed President Trump a shocking victory,
Judges Sandra Ikuta and Jay Bybee wrote the opinion granting Trump one of the biggest legal victories of his Presidency.
“The panel rejected Los Angeles’s argument that DOJ’s practice of giving additional consideration to applicants that choose to further the two specified federal goals violated the Constitution’s Spending Clause,” Ikuta wrote.
“The panel held that DOJ did not exceed its statutory authority in awarding bonus points to applicants that selected the illegal immigration focus area or that agreed to the Certification,” Judge Ikuta continued.
Democrats file all their lawsuits in western states precisely because they know the Ninth Circuit is stacked with left-wing justices.
Even some of the Republicans on the court are closet liberals.
That’s because past Republican Presidents like RINOs George W. and George H.W. Bush observed the “blue slip” policy.
Under the “blue slip” rule, Presidents would only submit judicial nominees that neither of the justices’ home state senators objected to.
Since states up and down the pacific coast are represented by two Democrats, that allowed the left closet veto power over GOP judicial nominees.
But this was the second time the Ninth Circuit Court handed Trump a major immigration victory.
Recently the court overturned an Obama judge’s ruling blocking the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” policy while legal challenges played out in the court system.
Immigration is the flashpoint of the Trump Presidency.
Trump’s hardline positions on immigration fueled both his victory in 2016 as well as the liberal resistance since Trump took over as President.
Democrats want as many illegal aliens in the country as possible so they can create millions of new voters in a possible amnesty deal.
Every legal and political defeat the left suffers setbacks their plan to use mass migration and amnesty to create a permanent governing coalition.
Black Eye Politics will continue to cover any new developments in the crisis along the Southern border.
