Hatred against Trump supporters is reaching new levels.
It’s horrifying how far the left will go in their attacks.
In fact, one Democratic politician was arrested after committing this crime against a Trump supporter.
A Rhode Island Democrat state senator was arrested and charged after vandalizing a vehicle with an “anti-Biden” sticker parked at an outdoor shopping area.
State Sen. Joshua Miller, a Democrat who represents Cranston and Providence, was accused of “keying” the side of a truck Thursday afternoon said Cranston Police Chief Col. Michael J. Winquist in a news release.
Police were called when the owner of the vehicle spotted an individual standing next to his vehicle, clutching a keychain with a solitary key. The person briskly walked away from the scene as they were confronted.
The victim, reportedly a Trump supporter, had noticed one vehicle parked near his had a “Re-elect Senator Josh Miller” bumper sticker and later looked Miller up online and identified him as the suspect.
Miller, who has served as a representative of Cranston and Providence since 2006, first denied the accusation to authorities.
“He was blocking my way, saying I scratched his car, I didn’t scratch his car,” Miller said in a video posted on social media. “I’m a state senator — I think he’d recognize. I think he’s one of the gun nuts.”
A local NBC affiliate later asked Miller if he keyed a Trump supporter’s car.
Miller responded, “I have to review the charges.”
After being confronted with video evidence, Miller went voluntarily to the Cranston Police Department and was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property.
He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released on $1,000 personal recognizance according to the Providence Journal.
Miller has been “particularly active in health care reform efforts, as well as environmental initiatives,” according to his biography on the General Assembly’s website.
Miller has also “sponsored legislation to ban the possession, sale or transfer of assault weapons except those grandfathered in and properly registered, as well as a measure banning ‘straw purchases’ of firearms.”
“Nobody is above the law, including those who make and enforce the laws,” Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist said in a news release Friday.
“The officers who handled this investigation did so with fairness, integrity, and without preferential treatment.”
Rhode Island GOP Chairman Joe Powers said Miller should leave office due to his behavior.
“This behavior is unbecoming of anyone holding a leadership position,” Powers wrote on Twitter. “State Senator Joshua Miller has proven once again the he does not have the composure required to represent every constituent in his district and must resign immediately.”
