In the age of Trump, the Democrat Party is imploding.
But from the rubble, there are a number of Democrats looking to rise up to lead the party.
And one shocking crime is about to destroy one of those rising star’s career.
Among the new Democrats in Congress, there are two who are raising red flags to conservative Americans.
They are Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.
Both have ties to radical anti-Semitic figures and even outright Islamic terrorists.
In recent weeks, the legacy of Rep. Omar has come into doubt, due to anti-Semitic comments made on Twitter.
Her career may be finished due to those.
But Tlaib has been more careful with her rhetoric online and is still finding herself in trouble.
In recent days, it is coming out that Tlaib likely committed a campaign finance violation after the midterm elections.
Federal Election Commissions (FEC) reports show her paying herself $17,500 as salary after the election.
As it turns out, that is a crime.
Since May of 2018, up until the election in November her campaign has been paying her $4,000 a month, which is perfectly legal.
But on November 16th, reports show the campaign paying her $2,000, and on December 1st it shows her being paid $15,500.
The rule is in place to prevent those who are no longer candidates from receiving salary payments, reading:
“If the candidate loses the primary, withdraws from the race, or otherwise ceases to be a candidate, no salary payments may be paid beyond the date he or she is no longer a candidate.”
This signals bad news for Tlaib, who is just beginning her first term in Congress.
That is if the FEC rule is enforced fairly.
FEC violations are notoriously enforced for political reasons.
Conservative author Dinesh D’Souza was caught committing a campaign finance violation in 2014 and ended up serving eight months behind bars, and a $30,000 fine.
Last year President Trump granted him a pardon, allowing him to forgo the rest of his five years of probation.
But notoriously anti-Trump figure Rosie O’Donnell was caught committing a similar violation with no punishment.
So while Tlaib should face punishment for the violation, it depends on who is investigating it.
Regardless, Tlaib continues to be a major problem for conservatives.
She is using her new power to promote her anti-Israel agenda.
And while in office, she is meeting with groups who have strong links to Islamic terrorism.
One of those groups is the Center for American Islamic Relations, who have leaders that support terrorist organizations like Hamas.
If anything, these connections seem to be enough to remove her from office.
But Democrats continue to stand by her, and will likely support her through any FEC investigation.
While the rule of law should be applied equally, those who are in the establishment can get away with more than those who aren’t.
Do you think Tlaib should face punishment for her FEC violation?
