The Democrat Party is unhinged.
But it isn’t just lunatic activists in the street threatening violence and chaos.
One top Democrat Senator issued an insane one-word threat to President Trump.
California Senator Kamala Harris is positioning herself as a major contender for the Democrat nomination in 2020.
In the process of doing so, Harris is aligning herself with every fringe leftist cause the “resistance” champions.
There will be no bigger 2020 litmus test for insane left-wing activists than dying on the hill to stop President Trump from winning confirmation for a conservative jurist to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Within hours of Kennedy announcing his retirement, Harris was on TV promising to play “hardball” in the fight to confirm Trump’s nominee.
Harris declared:
“based on every conversation I have had with my colleagues this afternoon, everybody is prepared to play hardball.”
The California Democrat admitted the left’s entire philosophy of using the court to impose change Americans would never vote for was at stake.
Harris declared:
“We are looking at a destruction of the Constitution of the United States based on all the folks he’s been appointing thus far for lifetime appointments. He’s been appointing ideologues. He’s been appointing people who have refused to agree Brown v Board of Education is settled law.he’s been appointing people not even qualified by bar associations. So this has got to be one—we all need to understand this to be one of the most serious fights we have yet to have had with this president. And we cannot relent.”
Fighting Trump on the Supreme Court – where Democrats are guaranteed to lose because Republicans need only a bare majority to confirm Trump’s nominee – is not the only far-left cause Harris is championing.
In one TV interview, Harris called for the abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) because open borders activists are horrified that Donald Trump is enforcing immigration law.
Harris declared:
“I think there’s no question that we’ve got to critically reexamine ICE and its role and the way it is being administered and the work it is doing,” the California Democrat continued by ranting “And we need to probably think about starting from scratch because there’s a lot that is wrong with the way that it’s conducting itself. And we need to deal with that.”
“First of all, I don’t think that the government should be in the position of separating families and that is clearly what is part of what’s happening at ICE and DHS,” she continued. “You look at what’s happening, again, in terms of how they’re conducting their perspective on asylum seekers, that is a real problem and is contrary to all of the spirit and the reason that we even have the asylum rules and laws in the first place.”
“Their mission, I think, is very much in question and has to be reexamined,” Harris concluded.
Harris’ pledges to abolish ICE and play “hardball” on the next Supreme Court nomination demonstrate how brutal – and how extreme – the 2020 Democrat Presidential primary will be.
Every candidate that wants to win will have to embrace far-left racial and identity politics.
In addition, candidates will have to commit to the most extreme measures – both rhetorically and substantively – in opposing Donald Trump.
While extreme racial politics and dangerous rhetoric may make Harris a viable candidate for the Democrat primary, it will eliminate any chances of winning back the voters who voted twice for Barack Obama but swung to Trump when they realized the Democrat Party no longer represented them.
