The Democratic Party is fractured like never before.
And while the party’s civil war is playing out on the presidential primary stage, another debate is raging over who the Democrats should select as their running mate for the 2020 election.
But one pick, in particular, is guaranteed to doom the Democrats to defeat more than anyone else.
The Democratic Party is in complete disarray.
With over a dozen candidates still in the field, the party’s presidential nomination has become a giant free for all with no clear winner in sight.
And yet at the same time, it’s obvious that the Democrats are being severely hammered by sharp divisions within the primary field between establishment old guard Democrats and more radical socialists on the far left.
But while the major candidates attack each other and work to tear one another down in their quest to become the nominee, talk is already swirling over who the Democrats should nominate as their Vice Presidential candidate.
While there is no obvious consensus choice yet, Democrats are almost certainly going to be doomed if they nominate one person in particular for the Vice Presidential slot.
And yet, they stand a great chance of being the running mate when the summer of 2020 rolls around.
Fox News reports, “After saying in October 2016 that refusing to accept the results of an election was ‘horrifying’ and ‘a direct threat to our democracy,’ Hillary Clinton surfaces to complain every few weeks, like a ghost haunting a mansion empty of ideas. But even Clinton – who conceded her loss to Trump – looks like a good sport compared to Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams, who lost the 2018 gubernatorial election but remains in raging denial of reality.”
Stacey Abrams presents a real danger to the Democratic Party moving forward.
Deeply unpopular after refusing to concede an election she lost by over 50,000 votes, and which she has admitted she has no proof could have been changed no matter how many ways she could challenge the results in court, Abrams is the quintessential sore loser in American politics.
And yet Democrats are touting her as a victim and as a potential Vice Presidential choice.
Abrams has zero credibility to serve as Vice President however.
Her claim to fame is that she lost an election in Georgia in 2018 and never got over it.
And yet Democrats are about to lift her up as their Vice Presidential nominee.
It’s a choice that President Trump would almost certainly welcome, as it would make his own re-election bid much easier.
“Abrams did not lose a close election. She lost by 54,723 votes. Compare this to Democratic Vice President Al Gore’s loss in the 2000 presidential election in Florida (537 votes), Republican Sen. Norm Coleman reelection loss in Minnesota in 2008 (312 votes), or even Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson’s loss in Florida last year (10,033 votes),” adds Fox News.
“Abrams lost by a margin over four times larger than the three candidates above combined. Yet Gore, Coleman and Nelson all accepted their losses.”
With this sort of track record, picking Abrams as the Democrats’ Vice Presidential nominee could be a disaster for Democrats that they may not catch until it’s too late.
Do you think picking Abrams as their nominee would hurt Democrats in 2020?
