Democrats are beginning to give up on the possibility of a blue wave on Tuesday.
Besides maybe taking back the House, there is little to look forward to.
And Democrats just got Party-ending news in the last state imaginable.
Dreams Of A Democrat Win Diminishing
Currently, Republicans control everything.
Trump is in the White House.
And Republicans have a majority in the House and Senate.
That means Democrats can’t do anything.
All they are able to do is try to obstruct Trump’s agenda.
And even that isn’t working for them.
So they need to take back the House and Senate.
If they do they are sure to take out revenge on Republicans.
At the beginning of the year, they were confident they would do that.
But with time, that confidence has faded away.
As it stands they have virtually no chance at taking back the Senate.
And hopes to take back the House are dwindling away with every passing day.
But they are still pushing forward, spending tens of millions of dollars to turn things around.
Despite that, they may face a massive defeat nobody saw coming.
Democrats May Lose A Position They Never Expected
Oregon is a Democrat stronghold.
Winning state-wide office as a Republican is something most don’t think is possible.
But in the case of the governor’s race, many believe it is coming.
Democrat Gov. Kate Brown is not doing a good job.
Even those in her party know that.
She is doing very little to close a $22 billion public pension deficit.
So people are seeing her as ineffective.
And in turn, they are looking at her Republican challenger Knute Buehler as a viable alternative.
Buehler is a two-term state representative who is well-liked in the state.
He is well-liked because he is a critic of President Trump.
So to most Republicans, he isn’t ideal.
But his criticism is making many Democrats see him as somebody they can support.
Their support is mostly a vote against Brown, instead of for Buehler, but it is still a vote for him.
The latest polling shows Brown ahead by just five points.
That is showing voters he is viable, and causing his support to grow.
Come Tuesday he has a better chance to win than anybody expected months ago.
This Might Not Be A Win For Trump, But It Is A Loss For Democrats
Because of his anti-Trump views, it isn’t a win for Trump by any means.
But it is a major loss for Democrats.
And it a symptom of what could be major losses in other races.
State-wide Democrats in other states are facing similar situations.
In Missouri and Montana, their Democrat Senators are losing steam quickly.
Both of those Democrats claim to be moderates.
But with Trump in office, that is being proven as incorrect.
They are being forced to stand against the president, who is well-liked in both states.
That is forcing them into a dire situation.
