Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was Biden’s favorite choice to win the coveted vice president slot.
But her dream soon turned into a nightmare.
And Whitmer’s world was flipped upside down after Biden made this surprising announcement.
For weeks, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was on top of the world.
She was the talk of the left, after publicly challenging President Donald Trump’s orders during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She then grew more and more radical with each passing day, ordering such extreme stay-at-home orders that Michigan residents were not even allowed to tend gardens on their own property, or buy seeds from markets.
Still, the left praised her for her almost dictatorial orders.
Many thought she was on her way to the White House, and hailed her as the next vice president after Democratic nominee Joe Biden vowed to pick a woman as his running mate.
But Whitmer’s world was flipped upside down after Biden made this surprising announcement.
Kamala Harris was written off as a possible vice presidential pick for Joe Biden last year after a cutting debate performance where she seemed to suggest he was racially insensitive.
Now, Harris is not only in top contention, but Biden aides, surrogates and major donors see her as the best fit at the onset of the process — at least on paper — to join him atop the Democratic ticket.
Biden’s campaign has formally started vetting a group of prospects that includes roughly a dozen women. But in interviews, more than two dozen Democrats, including advisers, allies and donors aligned with Biden, returned to Harris as an early frontrunner. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, the favorite among progressives, was also seen as rising above the pack.
This news comes as quite a shock for Whitmer, who is quickly losing all support and all credibility.
And now, she may even face jail time as her own state is dragging her to court to answer for her radical actions during the coronavirus pandemic.
Her state government had looked on in horror as her choices led groups of hard-working Americans to protest in front of the Michigan Capitol to campaign for their right to return to work.
These protests even caught the eye of President Donald Trump, who called on Whitmer to work with these “good people” and to find a solution to get them back to work.
Biden’s pick for vice president will be the most important choice he makes in his entire campaign.
After being faced with intense scrutiny for multiple gaffes and outright lies on the campaign field, Biden was hit with a very public and credible sexual assault accusation by a former Senate staffer.
Rumor is that the left is working to replace Biden, due to both the scandal and his age.
Biden is 78, and already has shown senility during every one of his rallies and speeches.
Regardless of who Biden picks, however, he has already lost this race.
