Donald Trump is running for re-election in an unprecedented political environment.
The President is facing a pandemic and left-wing activists manufacturing civil unrest.
And now you’ll be speechless when you find out what Donald Trump is about to announce.
The coronavirus outbreak is the number one issue in the presidential election.
How voters decide President Trump managed the outbreak could decide if Trump wins four more years in the White House.
To that end, the Trump administration threw everything at the process of developing a vaccine or a therapeutic to end the pandemic.
Chief of Staff Mark Meadows made this clear in an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.”
“The president has been very clear: whatever amount of money and whatever amount of time needs to be invested, we’re doing that,” Meadows stated.
And then Meadows dropped a major bombshell: The Trump administration was optimistic it could make a major announcement on breakthrough treatments for coronavirus.
“We’re hopeful that with some of the breakthrough technology on therapeutics that we’ll be able to announce some new therapies in the coming days,” Meadows added.
Already, doctors have the steroid dexamethasone, which research showed lowered the death rate by one third and the anti-viral remdesivir to treat coronavirus.
But Meadows believes the administration will be able to make another treatment announcement this week, adding evidence to the President’s case that his team successfully managed the outbreak.
Meadows also defended the steps President Trump took to combat the coronavirus.
“We actually took unprecedented steps. Not only did the president shut down travel from China and Europe long before even the medical experts were suggesting we should do so, and then we shut down the economy to try to mitigate the damage,” Meadows added.
Meadows also explained that lockdowns and mask laws were not plans to bring the pandemic to an end.
Lockdowns only caused economic pain and death while doing nothing to bring the virus under control.
Only a vaccine and therapeutics can suppress the virus and end the outbreak.
The Trump administration initiated Operation Warp Speed to bring a safe and effective vaccine to the public in record time.
If by the fall, the administration delivers positive news on the vaccine front and brings effective therapeutics to the market, the President can reasonably sell the public on a successful effort to end the outbreak.
How the voters receive that campaign pitch will determine if Trump wins re-election.
“We’re not going to have a solution to this. It’s not masks. It’s not shutting down the economy. Hopefully it is American ingenuity that will allow for therapies and vaccines to ultimately conquer this.”
