After Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus, he went to Walter Reed Medical Center for additional treatment.
The American people waited for an update.
And then Donald Trump shook his head in disbelief at this bad coronavirus news.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie helped Donald Trump prepare for last week’s first presidential debate.
Christie was in a room with the President and top aide Hope Hicks, both of whom later tested positive for the coronavirus.
Two other advisers that also prepped Trump for the debate – former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and campaign adviser Jason Miller – tested negative for the coronavirus.
But Christie tested positive.
Fake news CNN political correspondent Dana Bash broke the news.
“He called me from the hospital,” Bash told viewers, adding that “He sounds fine.”
Bash also told viewers that Christie said he was “definitely feeling achy, has a slight fever, but is under the care of doctors in and around him, obviously, at the hospital.”
In her conversation with Christie, Bash also reported that because Christie suffered from asthma, doctors administered the drug remdesivir as a precautionary measure.
Bash stated that “a treatment course of remdesivir, which as we know from covering this for many months, is usually given to patients who have a lot of trouble breathing. As I said, so far, that hasn’t happened. But because of his history with asthma, his doctors decided to get him on that treatment course right away.”
Christie later confirmed the news on social media.
“In consultation with my doctors, I checked myself into Morristown Medical Center this afternoon. While I am feeling good and only have mild symptoms, due to my history of asthma we decided this is an important precautionary measure.” Christie added, “I am thankful for our hardworking medical professionals and look forward to coming home soon.”
Christie’s positive test – as well as Republican Senators Mike Lee and Thom Tillis testing positive after attending the White House event to announce Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court – fed the fake news media lie that Republicans played fast and loose with the virus and had this coming.
Polls show the fake news media’s smear campaign against Donald Trump on the coronavirus had an effect as the virus is the President’s weakest issue against Joe Biden.
The fake news spent months falsely claiming the President did not take the virus seriously and “bungled” his response.
Neither of those conspiracy theories have any basis in reality.
But Christie’s positive coronavirus test and subsequent hospitalization will add another talk point to the fake news media script about the President and the virus in the final weeks of the campaign.
