Donald Trump is not known for looking backwards.
Trump certainly never dwells on what went wrong.
But now Donald Trump confessed to making a surprising mistake from when he was president.
Donald Trump is not happy with Mitch McConnell.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stabbed Trump and conservatives in the back by caving in on two separate fights with Joe Biden and the Democrats.
McConnell colluded with Democrats to hand Joe Biden a major victory by supporting a $1.2 trillion spending bill that advanced critical race theory-style concepts like equity and imposed Green New Deal provisions.
And then McConnell waved the white flag in the debt ceiling fight rounding up Republican votes to help Democrats gut the filibuster, add trillions in new debt, and grease the skids for Joe Biden to pass a nearly $5 trillion socialist spending bill.
McConnell effectively operates as the Democrats’ 51st senator helping Joe Biden pass his radical agenda.
In an interview with Breitbart, Trump expressed regret for not supporting a primary challenger to McConnell in 2020 since McConnell’s turned around and basically caucused with the Democrats since winning re-election.
“I regret I didn’t run somebody in the primary against him because he’s been terrible. He’s now giving it away with the debt ceiling. He could have used the debt ceiling to get rid of Build Back Worse. He could have used it, and he would have won. It’s a powerful thing. He gave it away today for nothing. He got nothing from it,” Trump stated.
Trump blasted McConnell’s absurd strategy in supporting the $1.2 trillion socialist down payment bill.
McConnell outrageously claimed passing the $1.2 trillion bill would sever it from the larger socialist spending bill and make it more difficult for red state Democrats like Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin to support the nearly five-trillion-dollar bill.
Instead McConnell made it easier by providing Manchin and Sinema the political cover to support the five-trillion-dollar bill since they already notched a “bipartisan” win Manchin and Sinema could tout to voters to show how moderate they are.
“Also, breaking up the bill was a disaster because it made it much easier to get this catastrophe that’s getting ready to come—they’re not going to be able to be stopping it. If you kept it together, it was tougher to get the votes. Then, of course, he gave them a two-month extension. What was that all about? That gave them time to get their act together, and they did. They’ll probably be passing this other one, and I’ll say more then probably; it’s going to be almost definitely passing,” Trump added.
Trump tore into McConnell for surrendering on the debt ceiling instead of using it as another pressure point to kill the nearly five-trillion-dollar socialist spending bill.
“With the debt ceiling, he could have killed the other one. He could have said no debt ceiling, we’re not going to go along with it unless you stop with the Build Back Worse bill. He didn’t do that. He didn’t do that. Even with the wall, it took almost two and a half years of litigation by mostly the Democrats—11 different lawsuits, and we won, won them all. It took two and a half years, but then we built it, and another three or four weeks, and it would have been finished, but then he [Biden] decided not to build it,” Trump explained.
Mitch McConnell once said it was his job to stop Joe Biden’s agenda.
That turned out to be a lie.
McConnell allows RINO senators like Lindsey Graham to fast track Joe Biden’s radical left-wing judicial nominations.
McConnell conspired with Democrats to pass a $1.2 trillion spending bill that laid the groundwork for a nearly five-trillion-dollar spending bill at a time when inflation surged at the fastest rate since 1982.
And now Donald Trump is upset he did not step in back in 2020 and defeat McConnell and prevent McConnell from operating as a Democrat Party collaborator.
