Liz Cheney wanted this fight with Donald Trump.
When all was said and done there was a clear winner.
And Donald Trump hit Liz Cheney with a humiliating defeat that sent her out of Congress.
Liz Cheney voted to impeach Donald Trump after January 6.
Not only did Cheney join in Pelosi’s sham and unconstitutional impeachment, but Cheney then made attacking Trump the singular focus of the next 18 months.
Cheney then agreed to be Pelosi’s handpicked Republican vice chair on the January 6 committee and helped lead a Soviet-style propaganda show trial designed to pressure the Biden administration to prosecute Trump.
Trump endorsed Harriet Hageman to run against Cheney in the Wyoming GOP primary for the state’s lone congressional seat.
When the smoke cleared the Trump-backed Hageman destroyed Cheney 66 to 29 percent.
And the 37-point margin did not even begin to describe how badly Cheney lost.
113,025 Republicans voted for Hageman, that was a bigger turnout for Hageman by herself than in the 2020 primary.
Cheney actively courted Democrats to change their party registration to vote for her and some estimates showed that 25 percent of Cheney’s 49,316 votes were Democrats.
Among actual Republicans Cheney likely lost 75 to 25 percent.
Wyoming Republicans sent Cheney and the Never Trump movement a message that they are tired of grandstanders and phony conservatives that serve Nancy Pelosi, vote with Nancy Pelosi, attack Donald Trump nonstop, but yet still call themselves “Republicans” or “conservatives.”
Trump celebrated Hageman blowing out Cheney with a statement posted to his Truth Social platform.
“Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming. This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs. Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!” Trump wrote.
Trump then added that because Cheney lost so badly the January 6 committee should disband.
“I assume that with the very big Liz Cheney loss, far bigger than had ever been anticipated, the January 6th Committee of political Hacks and Thugs will quickly begin the beautiful process of DISSOLUTION? This was a referendum on the never-ending Witch Hunt. The people have spoken!” Trump posted on Truth.
This ends Liz Cheney’s career in Congress as well as the Cheney family dynasty.
Since declaring himself a candidate for president, Trump single-handedly extinguished the Bush, Clinton, and Cheney political dynasties giving a voice to millions of voters fed up with their big government, globalist agenda.
