Democrats will stop at nothing to put Donald Trump behind bars.
He’s facing 37 counts of alleged crimes.
But you’ll want to hear Donald Trump’s response to the Democrats’ new indictment against him.
Former President Donald Trump was indicted by Biden’s Justice Department on Friday on 37 criminal charges due to claims of mishandling classified documents.
Trump could face a total 400 years in prison should he end up convicted on all charges and if the maximum sentence for each charge is imposed consecutively.
In a speech on Saturday, Trump said the “deep state” was coming after him and his supporters.
“The ridiculous and baseless indictment of me by the Biden administration’s weaponized department of injustice will go down as among the most horrific abuses of power in the history of our country,” Trump said. “Many people have said that; Democrats have even said it. This vicious persecution is a travesty of justice.”
Trump also highlighted the fact that as President he had the power to declassify documents.
“All of my documents fell under what is known as the Presidential Records Act, which is not at all a criminal act.”
“And this fake indictment, they don’t even once mention the Presidential Records Act, which is really the ruling — which is the case it falls under because they want something called the Espionage Act, and that sounds terrible.”
Trump said he’s been “engaged in an epic struggle” with “sinister forces within” the country.
“Together, we stand up to the globalists,” Trump went on.
“We stand up to the Marxists. We stand up to the RINOs, Communists, and environmental extremists. We stand up to the Open Borders fanatics, the Radical Left Democrats, their lawless partisan prosecutors, and the Fake News media.”
“In the end, they’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you — and I’m just standing in their way,” he said.
“We now have two standards of justice in this country. The Democrat communists want to jail their opponents while they protect the murderers who prowl our cities day and night, and other brazen criminals.”
“These criminals cannot be rewarded, they must be defeated,” Trump concluded.
While taking questions on Thursday – the day before Trump’s indictment was announced – Biden claimed he had no involvement with his Justice Department’s probe into the Trump documents.
“I have never once, not one single time, suggested to the Justice Department what they should do or not do relative to bringing a charge or not bringing a charge,” Biden said. “I’m honest.”
