Dr. Anthony Fauci’s reputation continues to sink.
Rumors continue to swirl that Fauci’s job is on the line as the President grows increasingly frustrated with Fauci’s advice.
Things may have passed the point of no return because Dr. Fauci thought he could hide this massive mistake from Donald Trump.
One of the big mysteries of the coronavirus outbreak is the actual mortality rate.
Cases are surely being undercounted because it is impossible to test every person in the world.
Currently, worldometers.info – one of the most reputable coronavirus tracking sites – lists 5,085,504 cases and 329,371 deaths for a case fatality rate of 6.5 percent.
But while cases are way undercounted, deaths may be as well.
States like New Jersey and Colorado lowered their official death tolls by as much as 25 percent because hospitals and nursing homes were counting anyone that died with coronavirus as a fatality even if coronavirus was not what killed them.
To get to the bottom of this puzzle, Stanford Professor John Ioannidis studied the results of antibody tests in 12 locations around the world.
Antibody tests show if a person has been infected with the virus at some point and recovered.
And what Professor Ioannidis’s research showed was that in some places, the antibody tests revealed much more widespread infection and thus vastly lower death rates that showed coronavirus may be less deadly than the seasonal flu.
“They range between 0.02 percent and 0.5 percent — although Ioannidis has corrected those raw figures to take account of demographic balance and come up with estimates between 0.02 percent and 0.4 percent. The lowest estimates came from Kobe, Japan, found to have an IFR of 0.02 percent and Oise in northern France, with an IFR of 0.04 percent. The highest were in Geneva (a raw figure of 0.5 percent) and Gangelt in Germany (0.28 percent),” the Spectator reported.
These numbers undercut Dr. Fauci’s fearmongering that the coronavirus was orders of magnitude more deadly than the seasonal flu.
“I mean people always say, ‘Well, the flu does this, the flu does that,’” Dr. Fauci stated, “The flu has a mortality rate of 0.1 percent. This has a mortality rate of 10 times that. That’s the reason I want to emphasize we have to stay ahead of the game in preventing this.”
Dr. Fauci also claimed that the coronavirus was so deadly that the lockdown needed to continue or else the virus would spread uncontrollably for weeks.
“Bottom line: It’s going to get worse,” Dr. Fauci testified before Congress. “If we don’t do very serious mitigation now, what’s going to happen is we’re going to be weeks behind.”
This was another lie.
Analysis by J.P. Morgan found the lockdowns did nothing to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
“JPMorgan has a devastating piece arguing that infection rates have declined — not increased — in states where lockdowns have ended, ‘even after allowing for an appropriate measurement lag,’” CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla reported.
“More JPM: ‘In the absence of conclusive data, these lockdowns were justified initially.’ But ‘millions of lives were being destroyed .. with little consideration that [lockdowns] might not only cause economic devastation but potentially more deaths than COVID-19 itself,’” Quintanilla added.
There is no science or data that supports these lockdowns.
The simple fact of the matter is Dr. Fauci’s doomsday preaching on the coronavirus amounted to the most expensive and economically crippling disaster in American history.
