President Trump’s re-election campaign is already running ahead at full steam.
And they’ve set their sights on one major state above all others.
It’s all because the 2020 election will come down to one massive swing state that Trump cannot afford to lose.
The race for the White House in 2020 is already well underway.
And with Democrats coming out of the woodwork to get a chance to run against President Trump, the stakes are higher than ever before.
Trump knows he has a lot of advantages going for him as a sitting President.
But he can’t take anything for granted.
And one major swing state will almost certainly decide the outcome of the election.
If Trump wins this swing state, he will win the White House for a second term.
If he loses it, he may lose the whole thing.
And that state is Pennsylvania.
After flipping it to voting for a Republican after over 20 years of voting straight Democrat at the presidential level, Pennsylvania was the most important state of the 2016 election that Donald Trump managed to win.
It was the state that delivered to Trump his 270th electoral vote, giving him a majority in the electoral college.
And it will almost certainly back the winner of next year’s presidential election as well.
Roll Call reports, “Voters interviewed here acknowledged that how their county breaks in November 2020 could decide whether Trump or the Democratic nominee wins the Keystone State, and perhaps the presidency.”
And Trump isn’t taking anything for granted.
“Three times President Donald Trump mentioned former Vice President and Pennsylvania native Joe Biden, the 2020 Democratic front-runner, and three times his crowd of loyalists booed at a rally Monday night in Lycoming County. But it is swing voter-rich places, like the one here in Lehigh County, two hours to the southeast, that will help determine who is president in January 2021,” adds Roll Call.
“He’s also on the minds of conservative media outlets and Trump supporters in the north-central part of the state, where the president on Monday made his sixth Pennsylvania appearance since taking office.”
Trump knows that Pennsylvania is the key to his re-election prospects.
And if he can pull it off in Pennsylvania, he will win the White House for another four-year term.
With Joe Biden likely being his opponent in the general election, Trump is also hammering Biden for claiming that he’s from Pennsylvania, despite leaving the state in the dust after going off to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate.
Trump is also using Biden’s voting record against him, telling voters in Pennsylvania:
“This guy talks about ‘I know Scranton.’ … He left you for another state and he didn’t take care of you because he didn’t take care of your jobs. He let other countries come in and rip off America. That doesn’t happen anymore,” Trump said.
Do you think Trump can win Pennsylvania again in 2020?
