Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is the true favorite to win the Democrat Party nomination.
But Warren was just betrayed by the one person she never suspected.
And Elizabeth Warren was asked this one explosive question that left her life in ruins.
Coming out of the third Democrat Presidential debate, it became clear that Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden were co-frontrunners for the party’s Presidential nomination.
And early state polling in Iowa and New Hampshire – as well as Warren’s ability to draw large crowds on the campaign trail – led many political professionals to privately whisper that Warren held the inside track for the nomination.
However the biggest threat to Warren’s campaign occurred on the night of what her campaign presented as her greatest triumph.
Warren appeared for what she thought was a softball interview on left-wing comic Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” on CBS.
The Massachusetts Senator’s CBS appearance came after her campaign’s “crowning moment” where Warren falsely claimed she spoke before a crowd of 20,000 in Washington Square Park.
This was a lie.
The New York City Park Assistant Commissioner told Breitbart that Washington Square Park only holds half that many people.
Breitbart reports, “NYC Parks’ Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Crystal Howard, told Breitbart News that NYC Parks permitted Warren’s rally for an audience of half that size– 8,000 to 10,000. The department believes the park’s capacity is 10,000, she added.”
Things only spiraled downward for Warren with her appearance on Colbert’s show.
Rather than tee up softball questions Colbert went right for the jugular.
During the third debate Warren refused to admit that her plan for a complete government takeover of healthcare would raise taxes on middle class Americans.
Plan originator Bernie Sanders freely admits this simple fact.
Warren does not.
Colbert pressed her on this point on his show.
Warren worked to avoid giving a direct answer to the question.
“So, here’s how we’re going to do this,” Warren dodged. “Costs are going to go up for the wealthiest Americans, for big corporations… and hard-working middle-class families are going to see their costs going down.”
“But will their taxes go up?” Colbert responded.
Warren again tried to skirt the issue before Colbert tried to get her to admit middle class taxes would go up by saying that government-run healthcare would be like public school, where there were taxes involved by Americans, it saved money in the long run.
“So, I accept your point and I believe in your point,” Warren mumbled. “Health care is a basic human right. We fight for basic human rights, and that’s Medicare-for-all. Everyone gets covered.”
Warren’s government-run healthcare plan is horribly unpopular.
In addition to raising taxes on middle class Americans, Warren’s plan would take away 180 million Americans’ private health insurance.
A recent Marist Poll found just 41 percent of Americans support a government takeover of healthcare.
Colbert knows Warren’s proposal is political poison and will likely lead to Donald Trump winning a second term.
But he also knows a large chuck of Democrat Party voters oppose Warren’s plan.
Colbert tried to flush out Warren on this topic to blunt her momentum.
Smart political strategists know that Warren’s positions on healthcare and supporting open borders render her unelectable.
Colbert tried to steer Democrats away from making what he considers a disastrous choice in nominating Warren by putting her on the spot in an area of her greatest vulnerability.
