Democrats are upset that Americans have the ability to express their free speech.
And they hate the changes that have been made to Twitter.
Elon Musk exposed Democrats’ scheme to bring him down in this horrifying way.
On Monday White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked by Reuters’ Andrea Shalal about what the Biden administration is doing to keep Twitter from becoming a “vector for misinformation.”
“There’s a researcher at Stanford who says that this is a critical moment, really, in terms of ensuring that Twitter does not become a vector of misinformation,” Shalal said. “Elon Musk says there’s more and more subscribers coming online, are you concerned about that and what tools do you have – who is it at the White House that is really keeping track of this?”
Jean-Pierre responded that the Biden administration is “keeping a close eye” on Twitter.
“This is something that we’re certainly keeping an eye on,” Jean-Pierre said. “Look, we have always been very clear that when it comes to social media platforms it is their responsibility to make sure that when it comes to misinformation, when it comes to the hate that we’re seeing, that they take action, that they continue to take action. Again, we’re all keeping a close eye on this.”
It’s insane that the White House thinks that it has a role to play in stopping certain information from spreading.
It’s little wonder that Twitter CEO Elon Musk said Tuesday that top Democrats launched a “coordinated” attack against him.
“Elon wasn’t super political on Twitter until Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren started attacking him for no reason,” the account on Twitter stated. “Then others followed. Of all the dudes they could have attacked, they chose the guy most capable of helping government solve problems. Strange choice.”
“Several other major Democrat politicians attacked me too, all around the same time. It was coordinated,” Musk responded. “Outside of party leadership and independents like [West Virginia Sen. Joe] Manchin, they are essentially actors on the political stage, not directors or script writers.”
Sen. Ed Markey even went so far as to send a letter to Musk claiming that he was being impersonated on Twitter.
“Yesterday, a Washington Post reporter easily created a fake Twitter account in my name, and by paying $8.00 was also able to obtain Twitter’s blue checkmark, signifying that Twitter had ‘verified’ the account was indeed that of a sitting U.S. Senator. It was not,” Markey’s letter began. “Apparently, due to Twitter’s lax verification practices and apparent need for cash, anyone could pay $8.00 and impersonate someone on your platform. Selling the truth is dangerous and unacceptable. Twitter must explain how this happened and how it will prevent it from happening again.”
Markey then falsely claimed:
“Compounding Twitter’s verification dysfunction, a pop-up stated that the fake account was verified because I was a notable person in government, not because someone had paid for the verification blue checkmark,” Markey wrote. “Safeguards such as Twitter’s blue checkmark once allowed users to be smart, critical consumers of news and information in Twitter’s global town square.”
