Eric Holder was one of the most powerful men in America when Barack Obama was President.
But now he could be in massive trouble.
And it’s all because Holder started sweating bullets after this explosive scandal broke.
For years, Eric Holder oversaw the Justice Department as Attorney General under former President Barack Obama.
The far-left attorney focused mostly on obstructing Republicans from winning elections by using the Justice Department as a political weapon against his opponents.
But since leaving office, Holder has focused his fire on one man in particular: President Donald Trump.
Holder’s attacks on Trump are notorious, and many predicted that he may have considered jumping into the overcrowded Democratic primary field to try and face off against Trump in the November 2020 elections.
But Holder’s almost certainly got more important issues on his mind now.
And it’s all because one massive scandal broke that he never saw coming.
The LA Times reports, “A U.S. Customs and Border Protection watch commander at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach has admitted to running an illegal gun operation, authorities said.”
This may not seem like a terribly big story for many people.
But it is for Holder.
And that’s because it sounds very much like his own botched “Fast and Furious” program under President Obama.
Under the plan, the U.S. Government intentionally provided weapons to Mexican drug cartels, supposedly to try to track their movements and capture high ranking cartel leaders.
But under Holder’s watch, the operation turned out to be a dismal failure.
Not only was the United States government caught funneling weapons into Mexico and placing them in the hands of drug cartels, but some of those weapons ended up being used to kill American citizens.
Holder managed to avoid too much political backlash from the scandal because he was one of the most powerful men in the federal government at the time.
But he’s not any longer.
And if one man can be arrested and sent to jail for gun running, so too can another.
And what’s more, a case against Holder wouldn’t likely be difficult to make, especially if this current scandal results in a conviction.
“Wei Xu, 56, of Santa Fe Springs was arrested Feb. 5 after an investigation involving undercover officers to whom Xu sold three guns out of the trunk of his car, including an ‘off-roster’ pistol not certified for sale in California, according to the U.S. attorney’s office,” adds the LA Times.
Xu’s potential conviction could open up the door for charges to be brought against American officials who conducted the Fast and Furious operation.
And Holder could be among them.
So while Holder and his allies are busy worrying about how they can defeat President Trump in 2020, he may instead be staring down a court battle that could set the stage for people like him being held accountable for the Fast and Furious Scandal.
Do you think Obama officials should be held responsible for the deaths of Americans under Operation Fast and Furious?
