Nancy Pelosi is used to fawning media coverage where she is constantly praised and never confronted.
That all changed on Sunday.
And all hell broke loose when Fox News asked Nancy Pelosi these questions.
Donald Trump and his administration refused to give in to Nancy Pelosi’s demands of unconditional surrender on the blue state bailout bill Pelosi falsely claimed was stimulus to boost the economy during the coronavirus pandemic.
President Trump ended up issuing executive orders suspending the payroll tax for Americans making less than $100,000 per year, deferring student loan payments past the September deadline, extending an eviction moratorium and allowing enhanced unemployment insurance to continue for another five weeks.
Democrats had hoped to leverage these popular pressure points to force President Trump and the GOP to accept one trillion dollars in bailouts for blue states to fix years of fiscal mismanagement under Democrat leadership.
“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if she “messed this one up” by demanding too much and ending up with no bill.
“Having no bill at all, not coming to any agreement, wasn’t gonna provide any of the things you want either. You’re known as a master negotiator, but didn’t you mess this one up?” Wallace began.
“Now, because there’s no deal at all, cities and states won’t get any money, there’s no money for the Post Office, there’s no money for hospitals, there’s no money for state boards of election,” Wallace added. “You knew that the president was threatening to take this executive action. I understand that you weren’t going to get everything you wanted… but should you have cut a deal? And are you ready to go back into talks to try to come up with a fuller package?”
Nancy Pelosi does not like facing challenging questions.
Pelosi demands the media ask questions no more difficult than asking her to explain how great and talented she is.
And Pelosi did not react well to Wallace’s question which caused her to fly off the handle.
“Well, clearly you don’t have an understanding of what is happening here, both in the weakness of the president’s executive orders — which don’t give the money, enhanced benefit, but puts a complicated formula there which will take a while, if at all, to accomplish, to put money in the pockets of the American people,” Pelosi ranted.
This interview followed an encounter with PBS anchor Judy Woodruff where Pelosi accused the left-wing anchor of being an “advocate” for the Republicans by asking Pelosi if Democrats needed to compromise in these negotiations.
Donald Trump played his ace in the hole with his executive orders and left the Democrats high and dry in defeat after Pelosi and Chuck Schumer refused to budge because they wrongly believed they held the winning hand.
