Fox News built its stature as the number one rated cable news channel by offering an alternative to the liberal bias of the fake news media.
But now high profile conservatives are questioning the networks recent decisions.
That’s because Fox News made a major programming move that could change the network forever.
Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders appeared on a town hall special broadcast by Fox News.
Sanders agreed to the event after the national party rejected Fox News’ bid to host a Democrat Presidential primary debate because Democrats claimed Fox News was “state TV” for the Trump administration.
With that in mind, some conservatives wondered if Fox News went too far in presenting a welcoming environment for Sanders to sway the decision makers at the DNC into letting Fox host one of the highly rated primary debates.
Politico hailed Sanders as a victor with the crowd wildly cheering his calls for government-run health care.
That led President Trump to question if Fox News packed the audience with “Bernie Bros” to prove to the Democrats they could be “fair” and are not the sinister conservative propaganda machine fake news CNN and left-wing outlets claim.
“So weird to watch Crazy Bernie on @FoxNews. Not surprisingly, @BretBaier and the “audience” was so smiley and nice. Very strange, and now we have @donnabrazile?” President Trump tweeted.
President Trump brought up Fox hiring former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile because she resigned her positions after WikiLeaks revealed she leaked a debate question to Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Trump may have wondered if Brazile returned the favor by passing questions along to Sanders.
This was not the only move that had conservatives questioning Fox programming.
Rush Limbaugh took host Neil Cavuto to task for hanging up Catholic League President Bill Donohue after Donohue wondered if the fire at Notre Dame was set intentionally.
“It’s the one area, it’s the one area where conjecture and speculation isn’t permitted. They can go get psychiatrists who have never met Donald Trump, who’ve never been in the same city as Donald Trump, they can bring ’em in, they can put ’em on TV and they can have them analyze Donald Trump, and that is gold. That we can trust, that we can take to the bank.
They can bring in people that had nothing to do with the Trump campaign, they can bring in people had nothing to do with the FBI and tell us what happened with the Trump-Russia collusion, and if it fits the left’s narrative, we’ve got to believe it. But the minute anyone explores even an alternate possibility to explain this disaster ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, can’t go there. There is some kind of real fear that just requires that any such talk be shut down,” Limbaugh stated.
Cavuto cutting off Donohue could be Fox News reacting to fake news media outlets like CNN, the New York Times and the New Yorker constantly attacking the top-rated cable news channel because unlike those corrupt media outlets – Fox does not present Democrat talking points as statements on fact.
After the sale of Fox entertainment to Disney, Fox News is the centerpiece of the new, smaller Fox.
Rupert Murdoch’s son Lachlan is expected to take over the network and that impending leadership change has some conservatives worried about what the future holds for the network.
Cavuto’s outrageous behavior and Fox rolling out the red carpet has some conservatives worried that Fox may be shifting gears ahead of the 2020 election in order to avoid criticism from left-wing media outlets.
