The riot at the Capitol put Americans on edge.
As the fallout from the violent mob’s attack continues to spread, Donald Trump and his allies got some bad news.
And that’s because Fox News told Trump supporters this truth that they did not want to hear.
In the wake of the horrific riot at the Capitol that left five people dead including two police officers, Democrats seized on the tragedy to advance baseless conspiracy theories about Republican members of Congress in order to gain a political advantage.
Democrat Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mikie Sherrill and Cori Bush claimed without citing any evidence that Republican members of Congress were white supremacists that helped plan what they deemed a treasonous insurrection.
On Laura Ingraham’s show, Fox News reporter Lara Logan put these Democrat Party conspiracy theories in context noting that many on the left and in the federal bureaucracy staged an actual coup against Donald Trump that began even before he took office when the FBI tried to leverage the Russian collusion hoax to drive Trump from office.
But the discussion turned serious when Logan pointed out that with Joe Biden set to sit in the Oval Office, the Justice Department would once again become a political club in the left’s bag with which they use to destroy their political enemies.
Logan explained that Democrats claiming that Republicans helped plan the riot at the Capitol would set the stage for the Biden administration to declare a domestic war on terror and that gun-owning Trump supporters would find themselves facing the full might of the federal government’s law enforcement capabilities.
After the 9/11 terror attacks, Congress passed the Patriot Act which allowed the government to illegally spy without a warrant.
Many civil liberties advocates as well as actual journalists like Logan and Glenn Greenwald are concerned the Democrats will exploit the January 6 attack to now marshal the forces of the surveillance state to target their domestic political opponents.
