The worst-kept secret in politics is that Hillary Clinton believes a path exists for her to launch a political comeback and run for president.
Democrats opposed to Clinton leading the party again got some bad news.
And Hillary Clinton was licking her chops over this jaw-dropping 2024 poll.
No first-term presidents ever stood on shakier footing than Joe Biden.
The world is on fire as Biden’s overseen foreign policy fiascos in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
On the domestic front, the news is no better.
And a new poll from Emerson showed why Democrats have every reason to be worried about their prospects in 2024 if Joe Biden leads the ticket.
Emerson found that Donald Trump leads Joe Biden 48 to 44 percent in a 2024 matchup.
That is a two-point increase for Trump’s lead since the last Emerson poll on a Trump-Biden rematch.
“In a hypothetical 2024 match up, former President Donald Trump is at 48% and President Biden is at 44%: a two-point change from November where Trump was ahead 45% to 43%. Both poll results are within the poll’s margin of error,” Emerson reported about their poll’s findings.
The inflation crisis – largely brought on by Joe Biden’s socialist spending binge – topped concerns for voters.
“Inflation is seen as the most important issue facing the country among a plurality (24%) of voters. Covid-19 follows with 20%, closely followed by healthcare with 16%, and immigration with 11%. Education and jobs were the top issue for 6% of voters, respectively, and taxes and foreign affairs with 3% apiece. Twelve percent (12%) report “something else;” and when these voters specified their top issue, the most common responses included climate change, crime, and income inequality,” Emerson reported.
Emerson also reported another flashing warning sign for Democrats as Hispanic voters were the voting group that most strongly disapproved of Joe Biden’s performance.
“Hispanic voters are most critical of Biden’s job performance: only 35% approve while 56% disapprove. White voters are more favorable of Biden’s job performance: 41% approve and 51% disapprove. Black voters are the most favorable of Biden’s job performance: 66% approve while 28% disapprove,” Emerson wrote.
In the 2020 election, the realignment in the electorate became clear as white, college-educated voters continued drifting toward the Democrat Party whereas working-class voters of all races – and especially Hispanics – began voting Republican in greater numbers.
Hillary Clinton needs Joe Biden to step aside for her to run for president.
Polls showing Joe Biden trailing Donald Trump will increase pressure on Joe Biden to announce he will not run for a second term if Biden looks like a guaranteed loser.
And that is where Hillary Clinton could swoop in and seize the nomination.
