Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar is likely the most disliked Representative in history.
Her approval rating has sunk down to 9% following six months of scandals.
And now she is sweating bullets after the FBI made one announcement.
Since taking office, there have been accusations of Ilhan Omar have sympathies for Islamic extremists.
In the past, she has made statements, and associated with individuals and organizations that raise red flags since she came to the United States as a Somali refugee.
The U.S. government has long had their eyes on the Somali refugee population, as they continue to prove to be a hotbed for Islamic extremism.
And that was proven especially true in recent days following the arrest of two young Somali refugees who were attempting to join ISIS in Egypt’s Sinai region.
The two men, Ahmed Mahad Mohamed, and Abdi Yemani Hussein, were communicating with FBI agents posing as ISIS sympathizers before attempting to board a flight to Egypt to join the Islamic extremist group.
“According to the criminal complaint, the defendants had been in communication with an FBI undercover employee whom they believed was a supporter of ISIS ideology. These communications revealed the defendants’ desire to travel overseas in order to fight on behalf of ISIS or to conduct an attack within the United States if they were unable to travel,” the DOJ said in a statement.
“According to court documents, both defendants came to the United States as refugees from Somalia,” the DOJ added. “At the time of their arrest, Mohamed had obtained lawful permanent resident status and Hussein remained a refugee.”
These two would-be terrorists have a lot in common to nine other people Ilhan Omar stood up for in 2016.
During her time in the state legislature in Minnesota, nine Somali refugees were arrested and found guilty of attempting to travel to Syria to join ISIS.
Prior to sentencing, Omar, who claims to oppose terrorism, penned a letter pleading for leniency for the Islamic extremists.
She says that incarcerating them for 30 to 40 years, which is the recommended sentence, is essentially a life sentence.
Omar claims that the best way to deter Islamic extremists from joining ISIS it to be compassionate.
“The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion,” the letter reads.
There is no telling if Omar plans to stand up for these two Islamic extremists as well.
President Trump in the past has called Omar out for her letter defending those attempting to join ISIS.
“She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization,” the President said at a recent rally.
Trump also responded to the arrest of the two recent Islamic extremists, tweeting:
“Somali refugees arresed in Tucson on way to Egypt. They were in touch with an agent posing as a terrorist. One of them stated, ‘The best wake up call is Islamic State to get victory or another 9/11.’ Get smart people!”
President Trump understands the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.
But Ilhan Omar is doing everything in her power to completely ignore it, despite the fact she has defended attempted ISIS fighters in the past.
When responding to a question about Islamic extremism, she deflected with a false and racist comment about white men.
“I would say our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country,” Omar said.
