Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar’s career is in jeopardy.
After making anti-Semitic tweets, she has only continued to dig a deeper hole for herself.
And she might not be able to recover after a surprising person attacked her.
Following anti-Semitic tweets, Ilhan Omar has been in the national spotlight.
As a freshman Congresswoman, she is already in a position she may not be able to recover from.
Following the tweets, she made matters worse by referring to 9/11 simply as “some people” doing “something.”
And now, many people who were once defending her are turning on her.
The most surprising figure to turn on her in recent days is Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Sanders is the original well known socialist politician.
From his position in the Senate, he has been promoting his far-left agenda for years, eventually creating a massive following.
Many of those supporting Omar are the same who follow Sanders, and his radical agenda.
During a Fox News town hall, Sanders was asked about Omar, and the comments she has made.
He states that he doesn’t believe she is anti-Semitic, but that she should “maybe a better job in speaking to the Jewish community.”
His comments are far from being as harsh as many are making, but they prove that Omar is clearly crossing a line.
It takes a lot for Sanders to acknowledge that her language is going too far and that she should watch what she’s saying.
The comments from Omar clearly cross a line.
There is a difference between criticizing Israel and parroting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
Omar chose to do the latter, claiming that support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins,” meaning that those who support Israel only do it for money.
She also claims that politicians that support Israel have dual loyalty, supporting Israel over the United States.
Those two comments are so extreme that the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan threw his support behind her over them.
When a former KKK leader is supporting her anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, it is clear she is going too far.
Her comments are beginning to come back to bite her.
There are calls to remove her from the House Foreign Affairs committee, considering that the committee deals heavily in issues relating to Israel.
But even if she stays in her position, she may not be able to win re-election.
Sources in the Minnesota Democrat Party claim they are already looking for a replacement for Omar.
Even they realize just how much of a disgrace she has become.
Those calls for her removal are only becoming louder following her comments on 9/11.
In the aftermath, the New York Post put her quote on their cover, with a picture from the 9/11 terrorist attack in the background.
And families of those who were killed on 9/11 are speaking out against her.
Do you think Ilhan Omar should lose her seat in Congress?
