Ron DeSantis is taking a bold stand to ensure that freedom is passed down to the next generation.
His actions are making Democrats panic.
It took Ron DeSantis just three seconds to send CNN into a wild meltdown.
Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is making sure that state colleges remain places of academic freedom.
House Bill 233 requires a “nonpartisan, and statistically valid survey to be used by each institution which considers the extent to which competing ideas and perspectives are presented and members of the college community, including students, faculty, and staff, feel free to express their beliefs and viewpoints on campus and in the classroom.”
The bill is aimed at stopping colleges from becoming mere institutions of left-wing indoctrination.
“It used to be thought that a university campus was a place where you’d be exposed to a lot of different ideas,” DeSantis said at a press conference this week. “Unfortunately, now the norm is really these are more intellectually repressive environments, you have orthodoxies that are promoted and other viewpoints are shunned, or even suppressed. We don’t want that in Florida, you need to have a true contest of ideas.”
DeSantis added that he wanted universities to be places of “academic rigor” instead of “basically hotbeds for stale ideology.”
“Two weeks ago, at my direction, the State Board of Education took action to stop Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project curriculum from being a part of our school system,” DeSantis continued. “We do not want curriculum that is judging students based on their race and we do not want false history, like you see with the 1619 Project.”
In response the mainstream media went into full attack mode against DeSantis.
Radical MSNBC host Joy Reid suggested that DeSantis is attempting to turn Florida into Communist China and called him “Ron Comrade DeSantis.”
The mainstream media has become so deranged that they believe having a diversity of viewpoints is somehow oppressive.
Other members of the mainstream are trying to engineer a quarrel between DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.
“So when is Trump going to turn on Gov. Ron DeSantis?” The Washington Post ran as a headline.
Others among the establishment media appear to be trying to cause a fight by claiming DeSantis doesn’t have Trump’s weaknesses.
“What DeSantis is doing is offering Trumpism without a) Trump himself or b) the crazy conspiracy theories about the 2020 election,” CNN blogger Chris Cillizza wrote this week. “And it appears to be working.”
Cillizza noted that “an attempted exposé by ’60 Minutes’ that suggested a link between a campaign donation and vaccine distribution in the state turned into an utter debacle for CBS — and manna from heaven for DeSantis.”
