Since his firing as FBI Director, stopping President Trump has been James Comey’s main goal.
He even released a book with the goal of destroying the president.
But that is nothing compared to the crazy anti-Trump move he just did.
Comey’s Fight To Take Down Trump
James Comey has been in opposition to President Trump since day one.
As FBI Director he did everything in his power to protect Hillary Clinton.
Instead of punishing her for sending classified information from an unsecured email server, he let her off the hook.
And in his new book, he even questions whether he was too harsh on her.
He didn’t expect Trump to win.
But when he did he continued down the same path opposing Trump.
Comey is one of the main players in launching Mueller’s anti-Trump witch hunt.
In order to get the anti-Trump Russia dossier to the public, he briefed Trump on it.
This is despite the fact the dossier was unverified.
But the briefing seems to have been a ploy to justify its release in the media.
The media used the meeting to elevate its status as being more than an unverified document.
So in the end, Mueller would not be in this position he is if it weren’t for Comey.
Comey Gets Involved In The Midterms
When the midterm elections came around, Comey got involved in a big way.
He gave a $2,700 donation to Democrat Jennifer Wexton, who defeated his Trump-supported challenger Barbara Comstock.
But as it turns out, that isn’t all he did.
Comey was seen campaigning for Wexton on Tuesday.
This is a race Trump was counting on to keep the House.
But with Comstock’s defeat, it gave Democrats an even bigger lead in the House.
It is a race that was leaning towards the Democrat, so it’s unsure how much good Comey did.
But more than anything it is the message Comey is sending.
He is making it clear he is willing to put in work on the ground to take down Trump.
With Democrats taking the House, that is becoming a bigger possibility.
Democrats in the House now have the power to launch anti-Trump investigations.
And they can further block Trump’s agenda.
What Tuesday’s Results Mean
But while Democrats had a good day in the House, they still did much worse than they were expecting.
Democrats thought they would have a blue wave.
Some thought they would take the Senate.
But in the end, they only won a slim House majority.
And Republicans gained numbers in the House.
This is good news when looking at previous times in history.
During Obama’s first midterm election in 2010, Democrats had a very bad day.
They were handed heavy defeats in the House and nearly lost the Senate.
And that is a normal thing for a president’s first midterm.
Trump outperformed what anybody thought he would be able to do.
It is a true testament to how well his presidency is going.
Do you think Republicans did well on Tuesday?
