Fox News is one of the few media outlets willing to challenge the Biden administration with tough questions.
That leads to uncomfortable moments for press secretary Jen Psaki.
And Jen Psaki embarrassed herself with how she answered a Fox News reporter’s question.
The White House released a widely-mocked tweet “bragging” about how the cost of seven specific items for a Fourth of July barbeque was 16 cents cheaper than in 2020.
Inflation is turning into a major issue and the administration is trying to deflect blame for rising prices from the fact that the secretive Federal Reserve’s printing of money to fund Joe Biden’s agenda is causing the economy to overheat.
At a recent White House press briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy pressed Psaki on how the administration could brag about the cost of a hot dog being 16 cents cheaper when the cost of gasoline was a dollar higher in 2021 than 2020.
Any miniscule savings Americans experienced when they bought these seven specific items got wiped away in the cost of fuel for driving to the grocery store.
Psaki did not answer Doocy’s question directly and instead tried to crack a joke.
The Biden administration hoped a roaring economic recovery could serve as the centerpiece of Democrats’ political messaging.
But the fears about inflation and several jobs reports that missed expectations undercut those hopes.
