Joe Biden made a terrible decision that’s hurting the American people.
Even now he’s unwilling to undo the damage.
Jen Psaki stopped dead in her tracks at this uncomfortable question from Fox News.
In order to hurt Russia, this week the US imposed new sanctions related to the contested Nord Stream 2.
While President Joe Biden was hesitant to hurt the Russian economy, he had no reservations when it came to shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline.
On his first day in office, Biden shut down the pipeline which would have transported 830,000 barrels of Canadian crude oil per day to refineries on the Gulf Coast of Texas.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy repeatedly pressed White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to give a straight answer on whether Biden would ever consider restarting construction on the Keystone XL pipeline but Psaki refused to give an actual answer.
Doocy asked three times for a simple “yes or no,” at Wednesday’s press briefing.
“Quick yes or no, because there’s a lot of grey area here: Is a restart of the Keystone XL construction completely off the table as long as Joe Biden is president?” he asked.
“Well, why don’t you tell me what that would help address?” Instead of giving the requested “yes or no,” Psaki responded with a question of her own.
“I’m asking you if it is an option. You guys say all options on the table. Is restarting Keystone construction one of them?”
Psaki claimed that restarting the project wouldn’t help the problems claiming that Russian oil was needed.
“If we’re trying to bring about more supply, that does not address any problem,” Psaki protested.
“It’s supply from Canada, a friendly ally, instead of Saudi Arabia,” Doocy pointed out.
“That — that’s already — we’re already getting that oil, Peter,” Psaki continued. “The pipeline is just a delivery mechanism, it is not an oilfield. So it does not provide more supply into the system. It does not address…”
Doocy, still trying to get a straight answer, asked whether or not Keystone would ever be on the table during Biden’s presidency.
“Is it possible that Joe Biden will ever say, ‘You guys can go ahead with construction of Keystone XL?’”
Psaki was unwilling to give an honest answer and did not directly answer the question, instead stating, “There’s no plans for that and it would not address any of the problems we’re have currently,” she said, moving on to take the next question.
While Biden would like to blame the rise in gas prices on Putin, he himself is the one who created the policies that made America reliant on Russian oil in the first place.
