Social media erupted at the video of the kiss that First Lady Jill Biden shared with Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.
The special moment happened on national television on Tuesday night right before Joe Biden started his third joint address to Congress in his annual State of the Union.
When the first lady made her way past her guests to her seat, she took the time to greet Emhoff with a passionate peck, which left Jill smiling.
It’s bizarre to greet a colleague’s spouse with a kiss on the lips. In a normal workplace environment, it would be considered entirely unprofessional.
“The unseemly tableau is further made scandalous by the fact that Emhoff is the husband of a vice president known for her affair with a powerful politician that helped advance her career, and in light of the fact that Jill Biden’s ex-husband claims her relationship with Biden began by having an affair.” The Federalist reported.
Bill Stevenson, Jill Biden’s ex-husband, has accused the first lady of having an affair with Joe Biden in 2020.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone,” said Stevenson according to the Daily Mail. “But facts are facts and what happened, happened.”
He said that he and his wife grew close to Joe Biden in 1972 while working on his first campaign to represent Delaware in the US Senate, and that he suspected the affair began in 1974.
“I know exactly when it was,” he told the Daily Mail. “Bruce Springsteen was going to play at The Stone Balloon and I had to go to Northern New Jersey to pay him in advance.
“I asked Jill to go with me and she said no — she had things to do, she had to look after Joe’s kids, Beau and Hunter. It was kind of a big deal to go meet Springsteen,” he continued. “I had no idea she and Joe were that kind of friendly.
“Then one of her best friends told me she thought Joe and Jill were getting a little too close. I was surprised that she came to me.”
Stevenson said that the suspicions were confirmed when Jill was in a fender-bender with Biden at the wheel.
“I was at work and a guy came in and asked, ‘Do you own a brown Corvette?’” Stevenson recalled. “He said back in May it had crunched his bumper and they told him to get an estimate and he never heard back from them.
“I said, ‘Wait a minute. Who is they?’ And he said, ‘Funnily enough, Senator Biden was driving.’”
The Bidens say that they met on a blind date in 1975, after Jill had separated from her husband.
