James Mattis has the nickname “mad dog” for a reason.
He is one of the best minds in military history.
And he is now working to stop the caravan, and just dropped a massive truth bomb on why.
Mattis Is On The Ground At The Border
It is the job of the military to protect against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
And it’s becoming clear that one of those enemies is the caravan coming from South America.
There are criminals and gang members in the caravan.
They are using women and children seeking asylum as a shield to gain sympathy.
And that’s why President Trump is calling it an invasion.
Like any other invasion, it is the job of the military to defend the country.
So the military is on the border ready to fight back.
They are placing barbed wire and setting up perimeters.
To lead this operation, Defense Secretary James Mattis has arrived at the border.
Mattis is well known for his military expertise.
Under his leadership, ISIS is weaker than they have been in a long time.
So his involvement with stopping the caravan is huge.
He is running a full-scale military operation to prevent the caravan from entering.
And on the way to the border, he spoke to reporters making it clear why stopping the caravan is important.
Mattis Gives An Amazing Speech
Mattis is known for his legendary speeches.
Despite being a man of few words, he knows the exact words to use in any situation.
So on the way to the border, he spoke to the media as he would talk to military men on the ground.
He explains exactly why troops are needed on the border and gives solid justification.
Mattis points out that former President Clinton once sent the military to the border.
And both former Presidents Bush and Obama did the same with the National Guard.
So Trump sending the military to the border isn’t a new thing.
But one president he focuses on more than any is Woodrow Wilson.
“I think many of you are aware that President Wilson 100 years ago — a little over 100 years ago deployed the U.S. Army to the Southwest border,” Mattis explains.
Continuing on, he explains exactly why he did that.
“The threat then was Pancho Villa’s troops, a revolutionary raiding across the border into the United States, New Mexico in 1916.”
Villa’s troops ended up killing 18 Americans in New Mexico.
Mattis Knows The Caravan Is An Invasion
Mattis understands that the caravan is an invasion.
Many are saying that claim is extreme.
But tens of thousands of illegal migrants have the capability of killing many more than 18 Americans.
Considering that many in the caravan are criminals and gang members that is especially true.
So his history lesson makes it very clear why it is important to stop them.
And that’s exactly what is being done.
