After months of delays and speculation that Joe Biden may not seek a second term Biden finally made it official.
The day finally arrived.
And Joe Biden made the 2024 decision that Democrats feared was coming.
Joe Biden released a video announcing his re-election bid four years to the day that he declared he was challenging Donald Trump.
In the video Biden stuck to the same script Democrats successfully utilized in the 2022 midterm elections by smearing Republicans as “MAGA extremists” that supposedly threaten democracy.
“Around the country, MAGA extremists are lining up to take those bedrock freedoms away,” Biden declared.
Biden then baselessly claimed that abortion on demand up until birth is somehow a fundamental American right that the government needs to protect.
“Cutting Social Security that you’ve paid for your entire life while cutting taxes for the very wealthy, dictating what health care decisions women can make, banning books, and telling people who they can love — all while making it more difficult for you to be able to vote,” Biden continued.
In summation, Biden falsely claimed that unless voters kept him in the White House, Americans would lose democracy and freedom in one fell swoop.
“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America, and we still are,” Biden stated. “The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer.”
But the American people — and the Democrat Party — do not want Biden to run again.
A recent NBC poll found 70 percent of Americans — including 51 percent of Democrats — hoped Biden would bow out of the 2024 race.
The NBC poll found 48 percent of Americans cited Biden’s advanced age as playing a major role in their thinking on why Biden should not run again.
Other polling shows 74 percent of Americans believe the nation is on the wrong track.
Democrats take a more calculated approach.
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Trump leading Biden by 1.3 points.
The American people view Biden as a failed president due to his failures at the border, on inflation, and in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Democrats’ number-one fear is Donald Trump spending four more years in the White House.
Liberals were not enthused by Joe Biden in 2020 but reluctantly supported him as their best option to win.
Now that polls show Trump beating Biden, Democrats want a different option in 2024.
But Biden is running.
And another development that is sure to leave Democrats cringing is the fact that Biden announced he will be running again with Kamala Harris on the ticket.
