Joe Biden’s presidency turned into a nightmare this summer.
But the public had no idea how bad things were going to get.
And now Joe Biden broke one promise that will break every American’s heart.
Joe Biden kept his promise to the Taliban to withdraw all American military forces out of Afghanistan by August 31.
However, Joe Biden did not stay true to his word that the administration would evacuate all American citizens from Afghanistan by the end of the month.
After the administration announced the final military plane exited Afghanistan’s air space, the leading military commander broke the bad news that Joe Biden deserted several hundred American citizens behind Taliban lines.
“We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out,” Marine Corps Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. announced.
That admission directly undercut the promise Joe Biden made in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos to stay in Afghanistan until the last American citizen exited the country safely.
“That’s what we’re doing now, that’s the path we’re on. And I think we’ll get there,” Biden told Stephanopoulos. “If there’s American citizens left, we’re gonna stay to get them all out.”
Despite the fact that the administration admitted to stranding hundreds of citizens in a country ruled by a hostile force that once provided safe harbor for Osama bin Laden, Joe Biden still tried to spin the retreat as a historic success.
“I want to thank our commanders and the men and women serving under them for their execution of the dangerous retrograde from Afghanistan as scheduled – in the early morning hours of August 31, Kabul time – with no further loss of American lives. The past 17 days have seen our troops execute the largest airlift in US history, evacuating over 120,000 US citizens, citizens of our allies, and Afghan allies of the United States. They have done it with unmatched courage, professionalism, and resolve. Now, our 20-year military presence in Afghanistan has ended,” a statement released in Biden’s name read.
Republicans were not having any of it.
Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn doubled down on her calls for Biden to step down.
“The Afghanistan war is not over. Joe Biden decided to quit and leave our citizens and allies behind.” Senator Blackburn added that “Joe Biden has put Americans last since the day he was sworn into office. Again, he needs to resign.”
Joe Biden’s flawed withdrawal plan ended in one of the most humiliating defeats in American history.
Not only was the Biden administration lying about the Afghan government’s ability to maintain order in the country and hold off the Taliban, but Joe Biden abandoned hundreds of Americans to a potential hostage situation.
The Taliban put on a media propaganda tour claiming to be kinder and gentler.
But on the day U.S. forces finally left Afghanistan, video emerged of the Taliban flying U.S. Army helicopters over Kabul to stage executions with death by hanging in midair.
Joe Biden is now counting on the Taliban to keep their word and not harm American citizens.
Trusting the Taliban to provide security outside the Kabul airport already ended badly as an ISIS terrorist slipped through a checkpoint and killed 13 soldiers in a suicide bombing.
Now Joe Biden trusts the Taliban to not take American citizens hostage or execute them.
