Joe Biden is trying to gain political advantage from Donald Trump’s arrest.
He’s not even trying hide it.
And you won’t believe how Joe Biden celebrated when Trump was arrested.
President Joe Biden was blasted by Republicans for “fundraising off the weaponization of justice” after he posted a campaign pitch asking for donations on Twitter the day Donald Trump was arrested in Georgia last Thursday.
“Apropos of nothing, I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign,” Biden posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Biden was slammed for using Trump’s arrest as an opportunity to fundraise for his reelection campaign.
“Biden celebrates the weaponization of the justice system against his political enemies by asking for campaign contributions,” the House Freedom Caucus responded.
“When government funding runs out 9/30, Democrats want a shutdown instead of reforming the DOJ to go after real criminals instead of political witch hunts.”
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) called the fundraising pitch from Biden “appalling.”
“Joe is openly asking people to reward him for trying to IMPRISON his political opposition. Wake up, folks. This is appalling,” Ogles wrote.
Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) said Biden had turned the country into a “Banana Republic” and was “laughing about it.”
“I think today is a great day to Make America Great Again … And begin the process of firing you,” Trump strategist Chris LaCivita said.
“7:30pm? The same time of Trump’s arrest? Biden is fundraising off the weaponization of justice against his leading political opponent,” said Ryann McEnany, a brand communications strategist.
Ironically, President Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez claimed back in June how important it was not to fundraise off Trump’s indictment and arrest.
“It’s so important that we restore the integrity of the Department of Justice and ensure that they are an independent entity and agency and that they continue to do their job in these most critical moments,” said Chavez Rodriguez when asked by CNN if not using the indictment for Biden’s benefit was the right decision.
“And so for us that separation, that independence is core and it’s not something that we will second guess or deliberate,” she said.
However, despite the fact Biden is campaigning on the arrest, things aren’t working out the way Democrats had hoped.
Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba said that having Trump’s mugshot released after his arrest was “probably one of the best things that ever happened to him.”
Appearing on Newsmax last Friday, Habba said, “I have spoken to President Trump, yes, he is doing fantastically and happy to put yesterday behind him, but quite honestly looking at his numbers, I mean just his one post on Twitter, what happened on Tucker (Carlson), it’s been a tremendous week for him.”
“It shows his strength and resilience and you really can’t ignore it at this point. The more they hit him, he just comes back up stronger.”
