Joe Biden should be doing spectacularly under the current circumstances.
But he’s making a terrible mess out of his campaign.
Joe Biden hopes this disappointing failure won’t get him kicked off the ballot.
No one could hope for a better presidential run than Joe Biden.
Back in February, he was near defeated and he had pretty much been written off as a long shot for president.
Then the Democratic leadership came along like a fairy godmother and revived his campaign from the brink of defeat.
The economy has been crashed because of the coronavirus, the allegations of sexual assault were hushed by the media and the current protests work against Trump since he is the current President.
The new polls show that Biden is up significantly; The New York Times-Siena College poll which was released Wednesday has Biden leading Trump by 14 points, 50% to 36% among registered voters.
“We’re going to beat him in November, and I think we’re going to even beat him in Ohio,” said Sen. Sherrod Brown, who is an Ohio Democrat. “And Ohio will mean an Electoral College landslide.”
There is a huge problem with that way of thinking, even if the polls are trustworthy.
Biden hasn’t done anything to win over voters, mainly the shift towards him has been caused by the coronavirus shutdown and the instability those shutdowns have caused.
“Biden isn’t the shoo-in candidate Democrats would like him to be. On the issues of the day (namely, criminal justice reform and racial tensions), he’s had a poor record. And though his numbers among black voters have held strong throughout the primary, there are some in the African American community who are tired of playing along with the political games Biden helped create,” the Washington Examiner wrote.
There are a few major factors that are going to determine how the November election plays out.
The first is what happens with the coronavirus outbreak.
The U.S. government has focused on not only getting a vaccine, but also on getting vaccine distribution up fast. If that pays off, it will be a major victory for Trump.
The second factor that will make a difference is the current racial tensions. If the violence gets out of hand, it will work against Democrats; if Trump doesn’t make voters feel that he’s addressed the problem, it will work against Trump.
The final factor is Joe Biden himself, he has always been his own worst enemy of the campaign trail and the mobs that the Democrats have cheered on could come after him.
Biden is being kept in the background by the media for a reason.
Joe Biden is still a weak candidate and even some Democrats are uneasy about Biden’s ability to keep his lead.
