Democrats are trying to control the news that you are able to see.
The liberal elite think they should decide what is true.
Joe Biden has an insane dystopian plan to censor Rush Limbaugh.
This week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was caught up in a scandal of her own making after it was revealed that she wasn’t in the Capitol building during the January 6th riot.
Following the revelations, the hashtags #AOCLied and #AlexandriaOcasioSmollett shot up to the top trends in the US on Twitter.
Instead of admitting that she misled people, Ocasio-Cortez sent an email to her supporters encouraging them to “identify any posts that are threatening or harassing and use the built-in report features to flag them for moderators.”
“Facebook and Twitter both have built in tools for reporting posts and tweets that break the rules,” her email read.
“To be clear, a US government official is calling for tech companies to censor private citizens for daring to point out when she is not telling the truth,” conservative journalist Jack Posobiec pointed out.
The left clearly wants censorship to increase in America, not just from big tech, but also from the government as well.
The New York Times ran an article titled “How the Biden Administration Can Help Solve Our Reality Crisis.”
In the article, The New York Times author Kevin Roose starts by mourning the fact that Americans weren’t paying enough attention to Joe Biden’s “high-minded Inaugural Address” which called for unity.
Instead, The New York Times alleges masses of Trump voters were listening to conspiracies which could lead to domestic extremism.
“There must be accountability for these actions,” Dr. Joan Donovan, the research director of Harvard University’s Shorenstein Center on Media told The New York Times. “My fear is that we will get distracted as a society and focus too much on giving voice to the fringe groups that came out in droves for Trump.”
The “experts” suggested that the Biden administration needs to appoint a “reality czar” who would direct a “centralized task force [which] could coordinate a single, strategic response” by the federal government to fight “disinformation.”
“It sounds a little dystopian,” even Kevin Roose had to admit, but added, “let’s hear them out.”
This task force would pressure tech platforms to make “structural changes” which would allow them to share their users’ data with government agencies “without running afoul of privacy laws.”
In other words, big tech and the government should work together to censor any stories that they consider extremist.
But even stating simple facts that Democrats disagree with will get crushed by the so-called “fact-checkers.”
Snopes rated the story that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was not in the Capitol building at the time of the Jan. 6th attack as “mostly false” even though it was factually true.
If Biden wants to stop extremism in America he should tell Democrats to stop abusing their power with big tech to stop stories that make them look bad.
That would be a good first step towards the unity he promised instead of trying to silence conservative voices.
