Joe Biden is watching his presidential campaign fall apart right before his eyes.
But not becoming president is far from the worst thing that could happen to him.
That’s why Biden is sweating bullets after one investigation was announced.
Following a “whistleblower” claim about President Trump and Ukraine, Democrats fell into a trap that could end up taking down Joe Biden.
The claim is that Trump threatened Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to force him to dig into Joe Biden’s son’s business ties in Ukraine.
If that is true, that could be bad for Trump.
But the release of the transcript shows that there was nothing threatening, and Ukrainian authorities agree, stating that the call was “nice.”
So Democrat plans to impeach Trump over this will go nowhere.
But what they will do is shine a light on a very real scandal that is devastating for Biden.
The scandal relates to his son’s business dealings in Ukraine.
In 2014, Hunter Biden took a job on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where he ended up profiting over $3.1 million in a 16-month period.
This is suspect considering the fact his father, who was Vice President at the time, was the one who led the Obama administration’s policy in Ukraine.
The elder Biden helped shape the energy and anti-corruption policies in Ukraine which directly affect Burisma.
So it is clear that Burisma was working to capitalize off of Hunter Biden’s father.
After all, by all indications, Hunter Biden is very unspectacular and has a long history of personal problems, including drug and alcohol abuse.
Not to mention the fact that he has never had any experience that would transfer in any meaningful way to a board of directors position in a massive company.
But what he does have is his father, who had a lot of power over Ukraine in his position as Vice President.
It is hard to believe that Burisma was not aware of that and that they didn’t do everything in their power to exploit that relationship.
Burisma was under investigation for corruption, but the case was dropped mysteriously.
Trump alleges that the case dropping was the work of Joe Biden, looking to shield himself and his son from any trouble.
But even if Ukrainian authorities don’t look into it, it appears that Republicans in the Senate will.
Republican Sen. Ron Johnson announced that he is considering investigating those ties to uncover potential corruption on the part of Biden.
Right now this is all speculation, based on multiple sources speaking to the Washington Post.
But Johnson, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, didn’t deny the claims when questioned about it.
“We have and will continue to gather information and conduct oversight on alleged misconduct within government agencies,” Johnson said.
This is the kind of answer a politician gives when they can’t give a direct “no.”
So he will almost certainly roll out an investigation soon.
And it wouldn’t be happening if it weren’t for the anonymous “whistleblower.”
